  1. The difference is that Egwene could have left the WT at any time to return to the rebels. She choose to stay, so she choose to submit to their rules or be punished for it.
  2. It's nowhere close to torture. Egwene was intentionally breaking the rules, knowing full well the consequences for doing so. Silviana never gave her more punishment than what Egwene had essentially asked for.
  3. Mat and Elayne is good, I agree. I also have a crazy liking for Rand and Nynaeve.
  4. no it hit him hard because he realized he was too weak, that he had to push to be hard enough to kill women type of deal. No, I'm pretty sure it was because he knew Rahvin was there but didn't do anything about it. He believed that Rahvin killed her, and that if he had moved against him sooner it could have been prevented.
  5. The three Aes Sedai who were severed and then healed by Damer Flinn are no longer bound by the 3 oaths. For them, it is Verin's Compulsion that drove them to swear; but their "own sense of honor" plays a key role in their faithfulness to the oaths. Do we know that Verin compelled those three? We know she did Irgain Fatamed for sure and it is assumed the others as well... And Sashelle displays the compelled attitude in her letter to Galina (the one read by Tsutama) I see. Thanks.

  7. We have no proof that her Angreal is substansial. If it was, I would assume mention would have been made of it before now. I'd think at most, it would put her on par with Ny. (Similiar to Elayne and her Angreal she got from the stash). Logain/Taim/Rand would crush her with it. CRUSH. Hell, if I remember Flinn is pretty damn powerful himself, as is, Naeff (I think). Either of them should Crush her. However we'll never know how powerful it is because it's never been mentioned specficially. Evidence suggests that it puts her at least on par with the Forsaken, strength-wise (see Winter'
  8. I have to shake my head at this topic, as it has gone exactly as I have predicted. What we know of Min's viewing is that "he would almost certainly fail without a woman who was dead and gone". That's it. This is all we know about it. As far as we know, as far as the wording we have been given goes (and we know that the wording Min uses to describe her viewings is important), this viewing cannot fail. It literally cannot. It does not have a failable state. If Rand succeeds without the woman's help, the viewing is still accurate. If Rand fails with the woman's help, the viewing is st
  9. I believe that that is quite possible, but pretty much everyone else here would tell you that it's highly improbable that Min could have possibly been referring to anyone other than Moiraine. Your assumption here being that Min even knew who the viewing referred to in the first place.
  10. Rand, Perrin, and Nynaeve. Although I haven't seen enough of post VoG Rand to be sure of that.
  11. Fixed that for you. (Although in all likelihood, it merely halves their lifespan, which would suggest that the average unbound Aes Sedai would have a lifespan of ~600 years.)
  12. I don't think it was mentioned without reason. I believe Moridin has it in his collection, and will use it when Rand faces him with Callandor.
  13. Actually, she kind of did. She got every single female Aes Sedai that had the necessary strength (and many who didn't even have the necessary strength) to help the Dragon to refuse to go along with it. If circumstances hadn't been so desperate, I believe that normally Lews Therin never would have tried something as assuredly complicated and difficult as sealing the bore without saidar support. The difference in situations (then and now) is that Egwene really can't prevent/convince all females of necessary strength from helping Rand (at the absolute least, he will have the support of those
  14. You do know that there are pronunciation guides in the Glossary of each book, right?
  15. Channelers will be far more important to the DO in the coming war than Fades.
