  1. I hate to burst any bubbles out there but does that image look vaguely familiar to anyone? Need a hint? Look at the covers of books five "The Fires of Heaven" and book the "The Dragon Reborn" (reversed image and embellished) But then again, I'm being skeptical. I've some fuller images of the book covers that I need to find to post here but the one of Rand is vaguely familiar but the image that I'm thinking of is of another character, with a cape from facing away from the reader as it is now. The girl is the same girl from tFoH and the background is familiar too.
  2. THAT in it's self is what led me to originally think of Leane sharif at first because she too met several of the hints as in dress, tapping of the lips etc; however the mere fact of her stilling canceled that out. Messana just seemed to know way to much of what was happening in Salidar which led me to think that she was splitting herself between the tower and Salidar. And as mentioned in the first post, I was listening to CoS and Theodrin just made sense.
  3. I knew that I had seen that thread quite along while back but I picked up on Theodren for a few other reasons which I realized that I had not mentioned above. One of those reasons was that she had not held the oath rod yet and so was able to lie, secondly and I cannot remember which book it was in but she too was described as also wearing a bronze colored dress at one time. Now the most convincing (although I personally am not convinced myself) was Messana's use of the words "The Ferrets.," a term used by the Rebels themselves. The one and only hold back for me to completely convince myself of her Identity is the fact that she (Messana) already knew what had transpired in Elaida's study in Crossroads of Twilight when Alviarin returns to the White Tower to discover that she had been replaced as the Keeper. After looking up Danelle I kind of agree with her as the choice.
  4. I've ran a search for this topic and sheesh the list was long but not found. I know it existed once a million years ago but the closest to it was "How to discover....Messana" which was posted in nearly four months ago so, unless it's been discovered already here's my take on it. RJ gave us two very distinct hints at this. She taps her lips thoughtfully and is wearing a bronze dress with a Tairen Maze hem. Well a few Aes Sedia have been mentioned as tapping their lips but only one was mentioned wearing the described dress but no it can't be her she was stilled. Leane Sharif who by the way thoughtfully taps her lips as well. I thought I had a little Ah-Ha going on there but like I said she was stilled. now listening to Crown of Swords last night another name came to mind and this one is not Aes Sedai (Accepted actually) She can lie, She is Strong in the power (somewhat) and is in and out of the picture quite a bit. She can also visit Tel'aran'rhiod. Somehow I have convinced myself that Theodrin Dabei just might be her. Okay, so now I've layed it out and if anything must be thrown...either please have poor aim or use feathers.
  5. I'm 45 and I just started reading WoT last year. I finished KoD 'round December and am on my second re-read and just started LoC though I am finding it harder to read that particular book for the second time. Tolkien is a great author as I've seen some of you mention who else your into. I recently read a quick book by David Weber called We Few and learned that it was book three of a three part series. Weber turned out to be a pretty good author. not the beast mind you but worthy of another read or two.
  6. Hey welcome to the forums. For some reason I think that it was not stolen but mis-placed. If memory serves me correctly, he had the angreal later on in Knife of Dreams. it was in his coat pocket when the Embassy met him before snatching him up and he was not wearing his coat at the time.
  7. Being "reborn" so to speak, as I think lanfear was, does not mean that she will be of the same strength in the one power as she once was. RJ seems to go to great lengths to describe how much power a person can take or hold as being "As much as a body can hold." Which really doesn't say much other than it varies with each individual "body." Luckers is usually always spot on with his thoughts and theories but being healed by another, more specifically a woman..., that just one I can't buy. Other than that Cyndane is very much Lanfear re-born.
  8. talaan and Merille will most likely set it out in Caemlyn or go to the rebels. I don't think that they were killed by the Black Adja myself and I seriously doubt that Merille will take her to Eliada.
  9. I'm 44 and just picked the books up in June and finished book eleven about the middle of September and have started to re-read them again.
  10. Welcome to the Forums and the Profile options are just past your nose and to the right of your screen. Slightly up and about eye level too.
  11. As Luckers pointed out in his listing there are so far only two items that have been either untrue or false and two other things that can go either way. I cannot remember who said it to Rand in Crossroads; but Beldeine was included in a blanket statement of his Aes Sedai. "They will each serve the Dragon Reborn in their own way." Perhaps she does serve him as the keeper. she can serve as the medium between the two towers. The parallels between what Egwene went through when being raised and what has come to pass or has been suggested is just too close. She being raised to Amyrlin, never holding the Oath Rod, etc.
  12. Here's what came to mind that brought forth this theory that what we saw in the Accepted's Ter'angreal may be what comes to pass in MoL. egwene cannot do as Rand asks which was to kill him and so she leaves him laying there "The way back shall come but once." Ugh, why can I not remember that Seanchen Girl's name when I'm posting, well she, Egwene leaves and that girl comes into play and she does as Rand asks thus helping him to die. It just seems that as I re-read the books, what was said and done in the Accepted's Ter'Angreal with Egwene and Nyneave, and some of what Suan went through has either come to a parallel pass or the end result has been introduced in subsequent books although not wuite the same as was seen during the Accepteds raising. With the quote provided that referenced what Loial was saying or interpreting from his books, it can be veiwed as the outcomes remain the same but the way towards those outcomes may run parallel ifs.
  13. Way back in book three when Egwene was risen to Accepted did anyone see some possible answers to memory of light as RJ walked us through the Ter'angreal with Egwene? Egwene is a dreamer and as we've been told Dreamers have the foretelling (or sometimes) well anyway Egwene, in one of her trials fails Rand when he asks her to kill him. Remember he was trapped in a rubble heap. Later on we find that one of the Seanchen women will help to kill Rand. Each one of her trials while in the Ter'angreal have had some portence to what happens or what is brought to light later on down the road in subsequent books. In her last trial there is some problem which arises from her having a similiar ter'angreal in near proximity to the Accepted's trial ter'angreal. We discover this after Alanna explains that it happened once before and caused a 100 or so Aes Sedai to not be able to channel for nearly a week because of severe headaches. when i first read through I did not connect the two until just recently on the second reading. the ter'angreal that is used to raise the Accepted places the Accepted in Tel'aran'Rhiod where whatever happens in there is final. Piece in the only two raisings that we have read about with what happens later on. Take Nyneave for example, she had to let go of what she wanted with Lan in order to return and in book Eleven she has to let go of Lan so that he may return to the blight and wuite possible never see him again. It's just a thought that was well organized until I sat down in front of this darn PC only to watch the trained thought process and the outline of what I wanted to say flutter away from me.
  14. Alrighty Potter fans, the Door has OPENED again!! The door is opened but I have yet to figure out the sequence or clue that will reveal its secrets!! Ahh, figured it out. What appears are objects of luck ie; A clover leaf, a horse shoe, and a Rabbits foot. There is also an hour glass which flips over a quill with an inkwell and a candle. There is also two books on the desk that open and close. I believe that one of the books is the English version of "The Chamber of Secrets." And the other is the English version of HBP. The other book has something to do with the W.O.M.B.A.T.'s It's a new WOMBAT TEST Here's How: Click the door handle to open the door. Click on the candle to light it. Click on the dark red quill. Click on the WOMBAT paper. Click on the clover at the bottom left of the desk. It will turn into a key. Drag this key to the desk drawer - the top of the key must touch the drawer. The drawer will open, revealing the WOMBAT part two exam. Click the hourglass on the desk. You can now being your exam - good luck![/list:o] If you can't figure it out then, Just highlight above Much different than the last one I think!
  15. I'm so uncertain of Cadsuane right now and just what her motives truly are if there are any to speak of. One thing that I am certain of about her is that Semirhage will undoubtedly have a very rough time with Cadsuane's interrogations. but what bugs me is that with the tower being split who, where, and for how long will she have to remain prisoner. what I mean to infer is that those forsaken that have been captured by other than tower Aes Sedai seem to either disappear quietly or are released by other forsaken.
  16. It was the Dark One speaking. Rand has not fulfilled any of the prophesies as of yet and has not established himself as the Dragon Reborn nor as the Creator's chosen one. Once he pulls Callandor from the Stone The Dark one knows for sure whom is to be the Creators chosen champion. Still at the end of EotW, Bal`alzamon is still unsure which of the three is the chosen, though since Rand can Channel he is the prime suspect.
  17. I kinda skipped a few posts after reading the first few. i had this same question come to mind and after reading the books I'm now listening to them on CD and cuaght the answer. Mats medallion protects him against flows of the power being used on him physically. However flows used on another object can be used against Mat. We all assumed that Mat was injured by Lightning but we do not know if he wasn't hurt burt "fallout," from collateral damage.
  18. I whole heartily agree with everyone that Mesaana is not Sylviana. I somehow got the impression that she was not Aes Sedai but perhaps an Accepted or even less than that, a servant.
  19. Couldn't finish reading the list but just incase it wasn't on there..., Your newest and most favorite swear words are Blood and ashes!
  20. Let's get freaky with Birgette she dows sound the freak Yo!
  21. Too bad Morain was not on the list but I Thought Berelain might be interesting especially since she hasn't been around the block like i first thought.
  22. Isn't she now somewhere in the dream world? the Tower that was described is the same tower that was used by Slayer in Perrin's dreams. I seem to remember that Birgette described that place as being in another existance, another world if I'm not completely mistaken. So in Lan's case, she more or less winked out of existance and is no longer alive in the real world. Thom, Mat, and one other will have to enter the dream world to find and rescue her.
  23. Most definitely Elayne. for someone who seems to want Rand so much, she seems insulted by his very ideals. she knows he needs all the lands to work with him so they will be victorious when TG arrives yet she's insultedthat he held Caemlyn for her return?
