  1. Doing okay, actually.

I'm about to celebrate my 15th wedding/20th relationship anniversary with Mr. Moon (awww).

We're for once in our lives, financially stable. I've held down a consistent adult-type professional job, 40 hours a week, M-F for 2 years now. I work with the resolution line/Customer service with a Health Insurance Marketplace insurance company (No, I'm not listing which one). I have a modicum of authority in my call center for that.

Mental health: I'm doing well. Still a struggle, as it will always be, but I'm actually TAKING my medications, and haven't had any major nervous breakdown/homicidal rages in a long time.

The move to Arizona was good for me.

Mr Moon was officially diagnosed with Bipolar (Type 1). Long story there, but he's doing better, and getting treatment for him has drastically helped him, and me.

Other family issues are rough, but that's a post for private chat.

So the Moons are doing well.

  2. Dear Ryrin,

    I think I will.

    Dear Reds,

    This year has been tough.

I was sick for all of the month of June, and in July one of my dogs passed away. We brought home a new puppy a month later, and  I love her a lot, but I'm still missing my Kanji-baby dearly.

Financially, I'm making the most money I've ever made in my life and I'm no longer living in the constant state of poverty that I once lived in.

HOWEVER... I have a lot of bills to pay off. Credit card bills, vet bills (mostly for Kanji), higher rent at our  new apartment. So I'm making excellent money.... but still living paycheck-to-paycheck.

Mr Moon and I are well.

At work, I'm happy. I'm in a leadership-light position, on the resolution line for an insurance company. The first line in "Supervisors" when someone asks for one, though without any actual supervisory responsibility. Win/win.

anyway, that's what's up with me.

  3. The birthday was a big one. A round number.

    The outfit is perfect.

I miss you ladies and gents too.

I'm just so busy with Real Life i have almost no time to hang out here these days.

I'm gonna make an effort to come in more often.

Actually I have always seen the browns as the cats. Never all doing one thing. Hard to herd.

Reds are more like a pack of lions.

well, lions are big cats, so that fits. Though I would really love to see anyone try to herd a pack of lions. LOL

I wouldn't join them, but I'd observe. From a distance. Behind a sturdy glass wall.

And the lioness is a fierce hunter, more so than the lazy so-called king of the jungle.

    Dear Reds,

We're taking Parenting classes as the first steps to becoming foster/adoptive parents.

We have sought advice of family, friends, and medical professionals, and it's time.

Oooo! That's so exciting! I've been considering doing the same if this whole getting pregnant/not having more abnormal cell growths thing doesn't pan out. I'd love to hear what's involved if you could tell me?

    Sure thing!

First we found an agency: this took a while, as picking a good agency can be difficult. Then, we had to gather all our legal documents and take the parenting class.

Our next step is a Homestudy, where the agency will get to know Mr Moon and Me, write up what we're like, our home life, how good we'll be at parenting, etc.

We're simultaneously going through background checks (Federal level- making sure we're not convicted of crimes against children or other felonies) and a Fingerprint background check (Yes, it's two checks. Yes, it's a lot. Yes, it's obnoxious).

Then Life Safety inspection (making sure our house is physically safe: child locks, no fire hazards etc) then court.

Of course, it may be different where you are.

    We're looking into Foster/Adoption.

  6. HI Killishandra!

Until about 3 years ago, I was a Houston Reddie! (Lived very close to Yele, too. Miss you!)

I'm in Arizona now, and miss Texas, but my health is better and my money is better.

I'm a Army Veteran, a writer, and a Women's Historian (I have a Master's in history- Mr Moon says it is a Mistress degree).

I haven't been as active on DM lately as I used to be, life is pulling me away, but I still am around every so often and even when I'm away, I still think about my Red sisters.

They're always with me, even in spirit.
