Just finished the Mist Born series. It probably won't make it into my annual reread cycle but it was a good read.
Just started the Malazan series, I'm about 150 pages into book one and while I'm still interested, I really have no idea what is happening. Hopefully the story will start to congeal soon.

Just finished a reread of the first two books of Peter V Brett's Daylight War series (The Warded Man, and The Desert Spear). It's a fairly traditional fantasy epic in a slightly off kilter world. Worth reading but you might want to wait for the final installment to be published before starting.
Now I am in the middle of Riddley Walkey by R. Hoban. I'm loving it so far. It's a bit difficult to get into the flow of the language, but once you do it's an amazing story.

just finished swan's song by Robert McCammeron. Of the two end of the world books that came out at the time (Stephen King's the Stand being the other) it is the better one.

Also just finished reading Ender's Game aloud to my children, they loved it, now I have to find something new to read to them so anyone have suggestions for appropriate reads for 9 and 10 year olds? (Before you suggest: The Harry Potter Series, LOTR, Percy Jackson, and Neil Gaimon are already off the list we tackled all of them this year).
What about Michael Ende? He's a German author, but his works have been translated. "Die unendliche Geschichte" is "The Neverending Story" - maybe you know the films? They're not half as good as the book - in fact, they don't have much in common. Maybe you could give it a try? I can also recommend other Michael Ende books. "Der satanarchäolügenialkohöllische Wunschpunsch" is "The Night of Wishes" (the title is so funny in German, the English title sounds rather simple, but it's a great book), or "Momo". Ende's books are unique, his imagination is vast, he writes intelligent fantasy for children, but even adults enjoy his books. If you want something special, you should try it out (and please tell me if you liked the books! )
Thank you for the suggestions. I will certainly take a look at these books.

I am reading Stardust by Neil Gaiman because I saw the movie and I liked it ^_^
I want to have time some more so as to re-read all my Wheel of time books xD
Stardust is a nifty little book, but then again you really cannot go wrong with Gaiman.

I just finished Logan's Run. The concept works better than the execution but it is still a decent read.
Additionally I recently finished the Sandman Slim series by R Kadrey. Worth picking up if you get the chance.
I'm not sure where I'll go next but I'm thinking It's a toss up between Doc EE Smith's Lensman stories and The Last Stand Of The Fallen Series.

Just finished the first two books of the Demon Cycle by Peter V Brett (The Warded Man, The Desert Spear). Worth reading for all fantasy fans.

after my first reading i admit to having been underwhelmed. However i think that was mostly becuase I was just plowing through the book to see what happened. Once I settled down and did a slower second read I saw all the little flourishes that I had missed on that first "just tell me what freaking happens to Rand' read. Much better the second time.
