Book tour info for Towers of Midnight

Jason Denzel

We've been given all the information for the Towers of Midnight book tour. As with The Gathering Storm tour, the events will kick off with a midnight release party in Provo, UT. Then the tour begins on the West Coast in Sacramento, CA (Dragonmount.com's home town!) and will conclude in New York City on November 8th.

The tour this time will be shorter than last year's due in part to the fact that Brandon just had another recent tour (completed this week) for The Way of Kings, his latest solo novel. But there's a special surprise: Harriet will be attending every one of the book tour events!

Also, just like last year, each site will have a a select group of volunteer fans who will help run the show and document the event. These "Tower Guards" will get a chance to meet with Brandon and Harriet in private before the signing event. Applications to be a Tower Guard will go online on our website in the near future.

So awesome that I don't need to drive to San Francisco or San Jose for this years book tour. Sacramento is totally podunk and not very scenic so I'm guessing that the decision was made so JD didn't have to drive to bay area again this year.

Cant wait for the Sacramento tour date, only an hour away, the last few tours just didn't get close enough. Although i know he was flying over Lake Tahoe during his flights, he could have dropped me a "I Killed Asmodean" bumper sticker :) Look forward to seeing you ladies and gents there.

Epic! I'll get to see Sanderson AND finally meet Harriet at the midnight release! To acquit with this honor, I may well have to apply for the Tower Guard and abandon my anti-social tendencies... @Al Jenn Mael: love the name btw, looks like something I'd use ;)

Thanks, I find your name interesting. A clan and society that I wouldn't see going together, unless it isn't indicative of the clan in which case would just be confusing. Either way the old tongue is wonderful.

Actually, I started out as just Hama N'dore, but when I tried making a yahoo account I found out someone already had that one, so I used Jenn as an indication that I, not them, was the TRUE mountain dancer, and it stuck as my online profile for everything. I hope they come out with some sort of extended Old Tongue dictionary, I love using it for names and comments to confuse my clueless peers

A stop in Canada would have been nice :(

Maybe for the last book, a signing in Toronto or Montreal could be arranged?

I'm just amazed there will be no signing in Charleston. The original author lived there for years and they included a stop there last year. This year there isn't even a stop within two whole states. Simply put, I'm awestruck.

You should mention the events out of the US, I just learned today that B. Sanderson will be presenting TGS on november 16th in a parisian bookstore, by (luckily) browsing said bookstore's website. Can't wait for it, though.

I am very sad that the book tour is not coming to Indianapolis. We have a huge fantasy fan base here since it is the home of Gencon. Maybe TOR can talk to Gencon about a WOT exhibit for Gencon next summer?

Anyone know what the book signing etiquette is for Brandon and Harriet, especially at Borders? I should already have the book, as I pre-ordered on Amazon the first day, and would like to bring it in with me. Also, it would be nice to have one or two of my other books signed. Anyone know the rules?

I would like to say how extremely disappointed I am that Brandon Sanderson canceled the signing in Charleston, SC. I have every first edition WoT book from 7 on signed by Robert Jordan/Brandon Sanderson and I won't be getting my copy signed this year. It is extremely sad that Mr. Sanderson would disrespect Mr. Jordan's hometown after we have supported him from the beginning. The dedication in The Great Hunt alludes to when "the true eye of the world" (Hurricane Hugo, 1989) passed over Mr. Jordan's house, and small things like that made us realize that no matter how big the series got he would always remember and appreciate Charleston. It is sad that with his death no one else remembers or cares about his roots and the people who are still there missing him.

Absolutely incredible... HOW can you NOT have a signing in Charleston, SC?!? This IS the Two Rivers!!! To say that I'm extremely disappointed in this would be a vast understatement, to say I'm angry would be putting it way too mildly.

Please correct this mistake, this is OUR home Harriet. I remember when Jim would have these barely announced events that were not on the main schedule. One year, it was at Chapter 2 bookstore (small independent store)and it was the best ever! (And you know it's not even very far from your house Harriet)
