  1. Past hour
  2. In this thread: some people who are gonna lose their shit when non white actors get cast despite most characters not having an explicitly established skin colour and Randland being a far future setting where skin colour is entirely irrelevant.
  3. Today
  4. To translate also Taivaanääreläiset. Meaning, being beyond our scope. When you had said what you said a heard a thousand of doors upon murky corridors inevitably close when you had said what you said I saw upon multitudes of crossroads wither thousands of signposts And you only blicked your eyes looked away a moment as generations died and cities fell Let days pass and moon pale let love but last till the morrow let death close the mouths of deceivers I do not believe in the ghost of love, palest When you had said what you had said within me there died a child that belied in a world without bounds when you had said what you had said I was free to journey here where each is alone with their fate That day left a shard of a shattering heaven in your throught and upom your brown a shard from the moonlight that day left a sea dark wave to the sides of your eyes and a witche's broom for a habitat of coldness Let days pass and moon pale let love but last till the morrow let death close the mouths of deceivers I do not believe in the ghost of love, palest
  5. Oh yes @Pandemonium because two white guys, a white princess and one black guy for comic relief was oh so perfect. Star Wars is a GALAXY far, far away, not nordic countries and some black people for comic relief. It's fiction and new characters can look like whatever the director wants, not what white male fans want.
  6. It would be more akin to him giving you a copy of his album.
  7. Who died and made you king of news again?
  8. They basicly are self taught, it like when Rand first started channeling he wanted something and it happened. He didn't know how he did it or why it happened.
  9. I could also translate Minun sydämeni on särkynyt Mine heart is shattered Hark how it says leave your childhood here press your hands in the soil stay and await the rise of dawn Grief stays here alike poverty alike the trust of the wilderness the chalice of promise and the pain does not abate Write it in sand -- sand keeps its trust write it in the stream -- water flows home write it in the air -- birds take aflight write it in memories, they flow along like roads Look where lies the wisdom that built the cities that wrote libraries to bursting of loneliness When the desert wind licks at the empty stream of you and your mighty phrases catch in your throat Write it in the Light -- light journeys to emptiness write it into the evening -- evening becomes night write it into fear -- fear is frightened of itself write it to be words -- they become other words When your memory no longer hurts anyone that is when mine heart shall break when your memory no longer shall hurt anyone my heart is journeying over a restless land my heart shall shatter to follow the wind.
  10. Perin also as he entered the tent was upset because it was clear the way his men were standing that they weren't going to let him be taken which made him feel like a coward. He even thought what was the point of a trial if one wasn't going to abide by the decision, it would just be a sham. Perin was going to abide by the decision but he wasn't going to do it before the Last Battle. Yes he didn't want to fight the whitecloaks and he wanted to avoid bloodshed but Perin was fully prepared to accept the judgement.
  11. Knowing the Scientific definitions of what exactly is involved with abortion, and the moral & Philosophical aspects of the Mother's right to privacy and life, versus that of the Embryonic cell's/Fetus's right to life/self seems rather integral to the constitutional arguments of the validity of abortion rights. and? I just said it was interesting... It's interesting because 6 out of 9 Justices are from a religion that are vehemently opposed to Abortion. 6 out of 9 Justices are part of a religion that 56 years ago, America was convinced shouldn't have been able to hold the office of POTUS because of prejudiced view that they would hold an allegiance to the Pope, over that of our constitution and country. Unless their judicial philosophy is to say F*** precedence , liberals, and any interpretation of the constitution that doesn't conform to the republican party's view..
  12. You have a photo album in your house. You invite me in your home. You say "Here have a look at the family photo album" I then proceed to post it for everyone on the internet. Same thing, different technology.
  13. News Papers are a bit more reputable than the random #fakenews website that grannies share on FB. Like, even the Inquirer is more reputable than some of these organizations that brand themselves as news...
  14. I translated this song, Minne paha haudattin, a long tine ago. I would like to try again Where evil was buried The song it groans and it flees from here, its cries I have heard the thrust of the swell of the open sea to have made to words The churches, temples, did I build for it I deceived, I did suffer, by deceit di it protect it from myself Did I love truly or as in songs replacing sencitivity with strenght, with will I though quietude a languange, I so thought I heard all though it was not said. I saught a direction that is directionless, at the sea of infinity did I set to build a house Where evil was buried there bury me Don't go -- now that it feels worse -- than to die amidst a nightmare -- where one has not done naught good -- to anyone Now the skies glow blossoming fire. water laps but heavily bronzen upon the deeps. On the air one senses Autumn swallows fly recall frosts of winter and flee Beyond a breath of life there is set forth a landscape of fear, this is what drives the singer
  15. Hi, Clayton! Welcome to Dragonmount. Please come by the social groups.
  16. Perrin promised that bit *after* Morgase announced her judgement. It was a way for him to avoid fighting the Whitecloaks. This wasn't the Perrin that went into the Two Rivers looking to turn himself in to the Whitecloaks. He had a very clear goal going into this, and that was to avoid bloodshed if possible. By the time Morgase reached her verdict, Galad understood what had actually happened that night, and he agreed with Morgase. That means he no longer saw Perrin as a dangerous darkfriend, so it would have made no sense for him to fight Perrin over that incident. Note that when Bornhald and Byar first told Galad of Perrin, his attitude was careful skepticism. He erred on the side of his men, but was willing to give Perrin a fair trial. This was not someone who had already made up his mind on the issue.
  17. You know, I always thought the Ajahs were remnants of the disparate groups of female channelers that came together to form the White Tower.
  18. Jearom was beaten by a farmer with a quarterstaff. Very unlikely that he was killed. Valda certainly had more experience than Galad, but his mindset led him to underestimate his opponent. It's telling that Valda was awarded the title of Blademaster by judgement, not by dueling another blademaster. Swordsmanship is a complete package, and the right mindset is a big part of that. I would say Galad is objectively a better swordsman than Valda: he didn't win by chance, he read Valda correctly and lured him into a fatal trap.
  19. I like the explanation of Demandred going insane from using the TP. Demandred's mannerisms remind me a lot of Baalzamon, and I don't think that's a coincidence. Definitely give props to BS for that!
  20. It's important to keep in mind that False Dragons are rare, and most cannot even channel. In 3000 years, only a handful of False Dragons were remembered as powerful channelers: Guaire Amalasan, Yurian Stonebow, Raolin Darksbane, Davian, Logaine. That is an incredibly small fraction of male sparkers. I do not include Taim in this list, since as a DF, he probably received training from Baalzamon.
  21. Three more for Pet Shop Boys, by numbers, though the list is not complete yet (No knowing where Tarja Turunen and Nightwish can get, or ZZ Top, though I don't suppose past 50.) Three more, four more, five:
  22. Oh, wish for there to be one by the highests on the list, I suppose that means Elton John, no go from Madonna, ok. That means to top from forty thousand seconds now: over 50 does that ok three last separe post
  23. I could put three more, to find a hit to end the show... ooh, but this is an encore. The encore is made of Erikah Badu, Sepultura, and Rolling Stones. And lets not pretend there's not gonna be a second encore, that is but Christina Aguilera: . . .
