Because it gets people to avoid considering him a lynch candidate.

That's exact why I'm holding off voting for him right now.

You're holding off because he made a claim, which the entire point of could be to stop people from voting him?

If that makes any sense.

And if I do vote him despite this hint, and his claim turns out to be true, then I'm called Mafia. There's risks with everything.

...Mash, take this from someone with prob 300+ games under his belt... If this is what is holding him back then you 100% need to vote him.

He did something wolfy to make it seem like voting him would hurt you and instead of you taking the risk to catch a wolf you're backing off.  That's the exact point of him hinting like that and you're playing into it.

In my first game, it was apartment that you get judged based on votes, so I'm not voting until I'm convinced and I can back-up my reasoning.

As I showed, I'm leaning towards EP and Turin for Mafia, but followed closely by Hallia. But with Turin's claim, I'm not at a stage yet to push for him.

Wait you're current?

Reads list.

Current ish I've been skimming since game start.

Dice seems to be hiding in mechanics talk, I'm not seeing actual reads from him.

Sept because of his Zander vote. If Seph flips mafia then Zander extremely likely town, but I haven't seen enough independently from him to read him town.

I'm liking most of EPs posts, other than the pokemon claim thing, but I don't know enough about Pokemon to know if he's right or not about Eldrick.

You're the most involved person in the game at the moment and I haven't seen anything outside of your recent town games yet.

I stole your meta on Turin from last game (acknowledging that it's open to abuse since it's now open), but he is more relaxed this game.

Leyrann it's presence and content.

Rest are mostly null, Zander at the town end due to an associated read on Seph.

Opinions on the current Hallia/Turin/me cases?

Meh, I confess I stopped reading yours and Turin's posts yesterday because they gave me a headache and I still didn't know if I'd be replacing in. From what I remember the only part of Hallia case I liked was the observation that she was ignoring the cases, on you the forgetting that Turin was voting you. I disagree with the 'skating' case on Turin making him mafia.

Perhaps. But if you're Mafia and pushing me to lynch someone important?

*lol* I think I just need to "man up" and just deal with it. No more timidity.

Screw it, it's mean to bully new people.

Mash, you're making no sense.  If you want to know why I'll be here but otherwise vote where you think it's best.  However, know that when Turin flips a wolf, cause he is a wolf here and you seem to recognize that, you're probably going to get lynched for pushing people off his wagon.

I'm willing to get lynched if I'm wrong.  You're right about the bold.  Questioning yourself will only hold you back.

Sorry if my playing style is quite different from yours.  If it's a requirement to respond to every detail that comes up, I'll try better.  It's just difficult for me to form opinions this quickly, and I'm trying to look at it from all sides.

I said in the very beginning that I had no idea why everyone hopped on John Snow.  Darthe said earlier yesterday that he was the only one defending JS, and while that's technically correct, as I wasn't saying much, I also don't see a point in lynching someone just to get it over with.  We want to catch Mafia on D1.  That's the point of the game.  EP's comment about "just lynch and figure it out tomorrow" really stinks, in my opinion.  That's not the best way to get the scum.

Also, Dice, why don't you say something helpful instead of just "try again."  I don't want to be lead by the hand, but I am a new player and I'm trying my best.

Darthe has been such a strong leader that I question his motives.

If I'm understanding this right, green equals Town and red equals Mafia.  Here's my list so far.

Seph

Eldrick's Replacement

John Snow

Ley

Darthe

RTE

Zander

Ithi/BFG

Hallia

Dice

TMD

Thane

EP

Turin

except you miss the point where I am saying to lynch the person who I most highly suspect of Mafia, or you're purposefully omitting it.

so you're saying I'm mafia because I want us to lynch Hallia and get it over with and yet Hallia is your third choice as mafia. Mashi my dear friend you just outed yourself as Hallia's team mate. Once we lynch Hallia you're next.

I have a history of commandeering threads with my overbearingness so I don't like to do that.  It upsets folks who are kind enough to play this game.

You're going to have to decide who makes sense as what eventually and somewhere you have to stick with your reads for various reasons.  Expect that whoever you're against won't like that and will challenge you for it, so make sure you have good reasons for the things you do, but maintain a stand when you take one.

If you think I'm town then say so, don't hedge it with "He is doing well enough that it makes me question if he isn't faking really well", that's flaky at best and comes across as you hedging your bets.

Similarly if you think someone is a wolf there are few things that should cause you to reassess and them soft hinting at a power isn't one of them.  If anything it should affirm your position because it's an easy way for them to try and make people nervous to vote them.

Spoken like true scum, EP. That moved you up my list.

He has a history of spouting off dumb nonsense, don't let that influence your read.  Think of EP as the drunk Irishman sitting in an English pub.

replace the darthe quote above with this one.

Another thing Mashi is iffy on the Turin push because of his claim yet I've all but flat out said who my pokemon is and that has no factor in her opinion on me?

1. Hallia-scum-I like EP's case on her.
2. RTE-slight scum-post 317 says sheeping is bad for town. He's currently sheeping EP. Bears further thought.
3. Firebird (EP)-town-solid play. Seems to be actively pushing for info
4. Mashiara-town-good newbie play I think. I'd like to see more posts than just her 9.
5. dice-slight town-gut feeling mostly
6. seph-town-gut mostly. Good reads, clear thought process.
7. TMD-slight scum-I don't like his Darthe vote, or it's immediate removal when called out on it.
8. Eldrick-town-Early claim doesn't strike me as scum move.
9. cory-null-No one's been really playing this slot. Ithi barely posted before she left iirc.
10. Zander-slight scum-He's coasting by, mostly just agreeing with people. Need to see more here.
11. Turin-scum-Trying to coast by. His case on me is the first time he's posted original analysis AFAICR. He's also got a reads list finally
12. Ley-town-asking questions, looking for info. NA talk strikes me more as stupid than scummy.
13. Thane-slight town-Haven't seen much of him. Would like to see more reads and opinions on current cases.
14. John Snow-town
15. Darthe-town-Good questions, amking people back up their cases.

Hmmm. I have 3/5 people voting me as scum or slight scum. I'm obviously wrong somewhere.

Trainers:
1. Hallia-scum
2. RTE-null
3. Firebird (EP)-town
4. Mashiara-town

Zander, seph, and RTE are up b/c I like the posts they've made.

Don't have a read on BFG's slot yet.

Still want to see way more from the people with 25> posts.

Not in mafia.

@EP your claim hasn't made any impression on me either, but then I already had you as town.
