Anyone itching for a role madness game?

 

I'm co-hosting a mishmash on POG. Theme is 1980s cartoons.

 

Will have between 50 and 60 players. Fast pace and lots of death. Starts Monday.

50-60 players is absolutely insane imo.

I don't know how anyone can be reasonably expected to deduce/remember much of anything with so much going on in a game that size.

That would be extremely difficult even if it was 100% vanilla.

 

That all said I'd be willing to fill space if and only if you need an extra body and don't mind low level participation/lurking.

Like most mishmash games on POG, the game has in-thread attacks, meaning about 15-20% of the player list dies per day assuming everyone takes their daily shot. There's a lot of killing power in mishmashes in general. My 40p game finished in 5 days. This one maybe 7 days. The difficulty is post volume, expect about 1500 posts per day.

As for strategy, usually a few thread leaders try to divert the in-thread attacks to a list of likely scum suspects. You focus on about 10 people at a time, not all of them.

And yeah I would be skimming like the last couple hundred posts just to get a grasp of what's going on and then comment, vote, etc and then disappear for several hours and do it again. That would be my MO for a game that big. I can understand if that's not wanted. Just offering to fill space if you need it.

It's good fun. People do what you describe. You might get shot for it but that's part of the game. You should give it a try.

In my (admittedly, very limited) experience, the amount you're expected to remember/deduce really isn't that much.  Games there move incredibly quick, and it's almost impossible to do a long, substantiated argument.  Most players are more likely to post one word than one paragraph.

Just my 2c but I played the last one Tommy had there and it was awesome.

 

Insanely fast and lots and lots of skimming just to find clues/specific players to focus on... No way I kept up until heaps of players were out but I probably posted less than what you said you'd be expecting to and it wasn't a prob.

 

...I'm back in for this one even though it was extreme cos the roles were great and it really was loads of fun.
