[Album Review] 1989 by Taylor Swift - Pop

So I have to be honest. I got this album because of the few songs that I heard over the radio. Her songs are really catchy and really upbeat. Hopefully you guys will enjoy this review.

So far my favorite songs are # 1, 2, 4, 6, 11, and 12.

 

1. Welcome to New York - This song is very catchy and seems like a anthem song. I enjoy this song because its about New York and I'm a New Yorker. Also the lines "And you can want who you want/Boys and boys and girls and girls" in the song hit home because she does support LGBT equality.

 

2. Blank Space - This is a hit on the radio now. I first heard this on the radio on the way to school. It is a very catchy tune and very upbeat. I also saw the performance she did on the AMA and was a good performance. She can hit those notes and does a great job on becoming a pop singer. This song makes fun of Taylor Swifts dating life. This song is a keeper.

4. Out of the Woods - This was the second song to be release offically when 1989 was coming out. This song has a nice beat to it. She explained that the song is about "the fragility and breakable nature of some relationships. This was a relationship where I was kind of living day-to-day wondering where it was going, if it was going to go anywhere, if it was going to end the next day." This is so true because we don't know whats going to happen and we live our life day after day. Very good song.

 

6. Shake it Off - Another catchy and upbeat song. It just wants to make you dance. Everytime I hear this song on the radio i start dancing or clapping my hand to the beat. It is one of those songs that when you hear it you'll sing along. Another song that is a keeper

11. This Love - A nice song that is very soft and has meaning to it. Its a typical love song but the lyrics are what makes it a love song. Another song that is a keeper if you're into that soft meaningful song.

 

12. I Know Places - A catchy song. This song talks about Taylor hiding with her love in a perfect secret place. It's one of those songs that you can relate to. I surely can relate to it because there are places that you go with your love that nobody knows. Like a awesome hideaway spot by the beach or that secret flowery fields in Twilight. I enjoy this song a lot. One of my favorites. I woule recommend this song.

 

Overall, this album is really good. I just picked my favorites and did a little synopsis on my favorite songs. I would recommend this album if you are a Taylor Swift fan or if you are into Pop songs. You will not be disappointed with this album. Has really good songs. ~ Overall album rate 8/10

Ok, so i have to listen to the radio at work, seeing i can't blast metal all the time (i think about my colleagues too sometimes).

Gotta admit, the songs are catchy. But, yeah, i'm a metalhead. It's good music, but nothing i'd listen to personally if given choice of music.

Fun fact: Taylor Swift gives really, really good hugs. (A fact that may have been distorted/amplified by a huge celebrity crush when I received one in 2007  )

I'm not a Taylor Swift fan because most of her songs are really annoying, but I have to admit that I love Blank Space.
