Greetings and salutations!

Even though I have read WoT for several years I haven´t real looked for any sites dedicated to this amazing world that Mr Robert Jordan has created for us all to enjoy.

I have to admit that I have read the books in swedish, I think that the translators have done a very good job with the swedish translation although some terms and names of organizations take some time to get used to, but most is pretty straight forward and don´t cause any real problems. :D

On a little sidenote. In Sweden they publish 2 books per every one released in english.

I guess the go by the premiss: Double the money, double the fun.

But I don´t mind that much and I actually think the swedish bookcover art (is that a valid expression?) is much better than the english ones I´ve seen in Sweden.

PS. Sorry for any spelling errors, since english isn´t my native language.

DS.

Hello Galten :D

Don't worry about your english... it seems fine... you'll meet lots of people here with english as their second language.

You ought to try and get hold of an english edition... I think most books are best in their original language. Certainly with the ones that I have read in several languages, it held true.

Have a look around the forum... there is a lot of WoT, but also a lot of socialising going on. Everything from talking about video games to how to make sigs. Have fun :D

Yeah, Galten, don't worry about your English. Most people who speak English as their native language have horrible grammar (including myself sometimes ;) ). And a lot of people get better at their English after visiting in here for a while. That, or they pick up bad habits from native English speakers ;) Hahaha. But that's ok. Welcome to DM! Ask around if you have questions (don't worry, nobody minds ;) ), talk to people, and have fun!

Thanks for the welcome fellas.

I have looked around on the forums and from what I can see there is a very friendly atmosphere unlike many forums and webboards I´ve seen.

I´ll try WoT in english sometime. Just have to get a bigger bookshelf since it should be what, 22 books in swedish? Or someting. :)

See you around.

Hope you'll post on some of the other boards, too, Galten :)

I think that the next book as and when it comes out will probably be about four books in swedish, lol.

If you like movies and TV... and really who doesn't.... you should stop by the Friendly land of Seanchan...

Well we are not a land as much as a board... and we do not have milk or honey....

We suck. Please do not come by and visit.

hei og velkommen som sagt vil du finne mange me andre språk fra skandinavia er det svensker og norsker som det er mest av *s*

oh and to not exclude the others will continue in english

i read the first few books the first time in norwegian then went over to engish and later reread the other books in english so yeah...they are good..i dont remember if the norwegian translations was bad or not to long ago though the silly translations of names and stuff in HP has absolouty made me a fan of reading english books in english *s* in norway thankfully they havent split any of the books up...thats just mean to charge you twice the price? well pending what they cost...i think norway and sweeden is on about the same course and i pay most often 98 NKR for pocket versions, though i found a shop where i get fantasy in pocket down to 89 NKR

anyhow hope you come to enjoy DM *s* i know i did the 2.5 years i been here so far :D
