Leala hadn't taken the task of teaching novices in quite a long time.  She much preferred teaching advanced classes to Accepted.  But for now, she had been tasked with teaching novices about philosophy.  At the point where most of them were, it was teaching them what philosophy was, and then giving them a few examples.  Philosophy was such a broad subject, and she had never taught it to novices before.  It was a display on just how had a topic it was to breech with some of them as she looked through some of their dissertations.  One essay was particularly disappointing.  One young novice took it upon herself to explain her "philosophy" on the One Power, but it was much more like a theory she had on where the True Source came from, and how it was tied in with the creator.  Not willing to put the paper aside like it was a failure, Leala wrote that the student should see her after class.

After a few more papers, she decided to take a break.  She wouldn't see this class until the next evening anyway.  She stacked papers that would need more work to one side, papers she had graded and was ready to pass back to another stack, and put the untouched ones in the middle.

She stood up and found her dinner on a table where she had placed it earlier in the evening.  Finally sitting down to it, she found it was cold.  She warmed it up with a weave of Fire, then ate her simple dinner.  She wasn't that hungry tonight, really.  She just needed something in her stomach before bed.

With that done, she changed into her nightgown and went to bed.  As she tried to relax herself, she couldn't help but think of what she could say, how she could teach to make these young women understand philosophy.  Maybe there were some philosophers she could use as examples that she hadn't thought of yet.  Maybe she could explain what philosophy was compared to theory.  She had never thought of this subject that she had spent so many years studying as it would seem to someone who had never touched upon it...  Maybe she could ask some other Whites for help...

Leala found that she could not sleep and decided to get up and walk around the Tower.  That would certainly tire her out.  She would need to get out of bed and get dressed first, though.  And just like that, with that simple intention, she was out of bed and dressed.  She stared down at her attire.  It was a simple white dress with gold embroidery, the kind she normally wore.  But, just a moment ago, she was wearing her nightgown.  And, then it changed back to her nightgown.  Looking up, she saw her room exactly how it had been a moment ago.  She walked over to her desk and picked up a paper she had graded.  It was just as it had been as well, but it disappeared out of her hand after a second or two.

"Hmm...."

She dropped her hands and walked out to the middle of her rooms.  This was certainly odd.  She looked down and saw that her nightgown had turned into her dress again, this one even more plain than the other one had been.  It lacked the embroidery, but it wasn't a novice dress.  She noted that she was now wearing a cloak as well.  She didn't feel as if she was dreaming, but the world around her was acting as if she was.

"Ah," she said.  "This must be the World of the Dreaming.  And here I thought I didn't have a Talent."  She thought that the next day, she would have to immediately find a Brown, and then she was in the Library.  She stared around and saw Browns flashing in and out of spots in their work while they dreamt.  They were just flashes, but they were there.  The Browns were certainly dedicated.  One Brown sister appeared in front of her, a mousy sister named Ellyan.  She stayed for more than a second, and seemed to see Leala for a moment before disappearing.

Leala knitted her brow and turned around, and walked to the door.  Apparently, she could travel from one place to another with a thought here as well.  She walked to the Tower grounds and crossed her arms.  She was now wearing her white shawl.  This whole experience was making her feel strange, much like this class she was teaching.  Her dress changed to novice whites, but she willed it back to what it had been a moment before.  She'd need to concentrate and find things out.
