The Night (Mare) Before X-Mas...

Twas the night before Tarmon Gai?don (I mean X-Mas)

And all through the Blight not a creature was stirring?

Well, nothing except for that frightful incarnation, Shaisam.

The sickly trees were groomed and the ravens perched about with longing

In hopes that a sign of life from the Pit of Doom?

the Dark Lord within the world of man belonging..

When from all around the Darkness, Shadowspawn of all sorts jumped up in alarm

There arose such a sinister cackle in the distance?.what was this that wished them harm?

When what?. to all their searching eyes should appear?

Why, a ghostly wagon immersed in a maddening fog drawing near!!!

With a pale complexion the Peddler approaches?

So thin but agile?..all knew in a moment the form steady but fragile

?.of Mordeth.

More rabid than Darkhounds, more ghastly than Fades

His eyes soon found them all shuddering

As he whistled and screamed

And yelled so disturbingly it seemed.

Warning them of the end, no time to make amends, or excuses invent.
 .
As he called them all filth, and useless servants unworthy

?. as his speeding wagon came and went.

To the top of the Shayol Ghul he ushered and drove his ride?..

Not stopping or halting, but on and on.

Daring any creature to bar him else they?d become his pawn.

And then in an instant of twinkling, beady eyes,

the flickering form of a Fain could be seen.

Raising his arms in triumph and glory?..

For he?d now watch both Light and Shadow till there was no more ground to gain

Thus would conclude the Wheel?s turning of this particular holiday story.

It was then that all the Dark Lord?s creatures, both quietly and loudly pleading

?.asked about the deserved presents.....

but how can a Peddler hand out such trinkets from his wagon if it?s all the world he resents?!

Thus evil glares and appalling curses were the sorts of offerings given,

though such selections were bountifully handed out from the ride driven.

Mordeth opened the flaps of his wagon

?..and like the Hound of old, flung what he had near and far.

In doing so, the entity of Shaisam provided the Shadow with more jolly hate,

Perhaps to craft an even stronger destiny that was all Darkfriends? fate.

To win the Last Battle, and in doing so snuff out the wretched Light?

To help sound for themselves death?s rattle, to return power to the Blight.

And so then with his entire stock of necessary gestures and sensations spent,

The wandering giver that was Fain, and Mordeth, and Shaisam finally did relent.

With a wide grin, and an insane laugh that resonated off valley and mountain.

He exclaimed his final gift?..to spill the Dragon?s blood like a fountain.

Then came a moment where the black skies did for the announcer send

?.as the remaining apparition that was wagon and driver vanished,

leaving but a lingering mass of fog, and of mist, and of wind.

But each Trolloc grew scared, each Myddraal felt ill-prepared

?.each Dragkhar shook in the air, each raven and rat but stare. . .

As they would all eagerly swear by the forbidden name of Shai?tan,

that the echoes of that nightmarish cackle had hinted at a prophecy.

?., a foreshadowing that, already, Tarmon Gai?don (I mean X-mas!) was finished and done.
