...Obama's Washington?  Everybody sniping at everybody else, factional strife, complete dysfunctionality?  Whenever I watch these clowns bashing each other on the  news, I can't help but think of RJ's portrayal of the White Tower under Elaida's "leadership".

No, not really, to be honest.  Leaving politics out of it, Ted Cruz and the Tea Party people that led the shutdown were mostly fairly new to Congress.  Elaida and the Red Ajah were hardly neophytes, and there was nobody as tough, smart, wise and competent as Egwene on either side of the aisle in Washington DC.

Both Elaida and Obama have made mistakes as leader.  Yet a significant portion portion of Elaida's was due to influence of other people; and Obama's seems mostly himself.
