Weekly Redarm Challenges

HEAR YE! HEAR YE!! *notices everyone looking at him like he is crazy*  Lol, now that I have your attention...I'd like to announce the return of the Weekly Redarm Challenges.

 

This post is a signup for people who are interested in taking the RA challenge.  We RAs have come up with some ideas for things people have to post or do for 1 week's time in order to earn promotion points. All you have to do is perform the challenge all week.  Then I will poll the RAs in the RA boards to see if the RAs are in agreement that the challenge has been met.  If we are in general agreement (a simple majority) then you will earn yourself some promotion points.  Since I am limited on the number of promotion points I can give out in a month, I am limiting the amount of challenges to 2 a month. 1 week for the challenge and 3 days for voting from the RAs.

 

A fair warning, since promotion points are available for these tasks, these tasks could be a bit tough or annoying to have to do for an entire week, but that is the point of it being a challenge.  Do you have what it takes to complete our challenge?  Please post below if you are interested and I will let you know further details of what your challenge is by PM.  The first challenge will start Thursday or Friday of this week if we have someone interested that quickly.

 

Rules for the Challenges

1. Challenges last 1 full week from the day started.

2.  You are allowed 3 'strikes' or messups, forget to do the task, etc. before you fail the challenge.  'Strikes' can be determined by any of the 4 RAs.

3.  Promotion points are awarded on an all or nothing basis (pass or fail).  4 Promotion points will be awarded for a successful completion of the challenge.

4.  Activity needs to be at least somewhat regular (i.e. to complete successfully you can't post once one day then once a few days later. At least a few posts a day should be made).

5.  After the 1 week period, the 4 RAs will vote on whether or not the challenge was completed successfully.  I will PM the challengee the final outcome of the challenge

6. Official posts are exempt (including Jousting posts, Game posts in the arena, or other special task posts) from the challenge.

Excellent! Thanks BFG! As in my first post we will be doing 2 a month, your task will be later this month, once Dice's is finished.  I will let you know ahead of time when we will start the task. I just need to hash out the days for yours to fit in August.

Sure, why not Kronos.  The only thing that will be different is obviously you wouldn't be able to vote on if you passed the challenge.  So it would be between me, Nica and Time to vote.

CHALLENGE DICE!

 

Dice, you were first to volunteer for the RA Challenges.  Your challenge starts right....now!  The rules were added to the first post of this thread.  I will also PM you the challenge so that you know that your time has started.

 

Your challenge is as follows...for one full week, 7 days, 168 hours, or whatever other time frame you want to call one week, all posts within the Band must be done in the form of a question. Rhetorical questions are allowed.

Every post just needs to have 1 question in it. I think every line would be way too much. So as long as 1 question is in the post it will be good.

On a side note. BFG's challenge will start tonight when I get a chance to get back online.  It will likely be between 8-9pm EST.  I will also PM you BFG as to the task, along with posting it here.

Not knowing what form it will take - are the staff boards and game threads excluded from the challenge or not?

the only things excluded for me were official threads and my Joust Master duties.

BFG, to answer your questions, any official posts (game posts, answering questions for the game, posts as recruiter for the Archers, posts between the band and Aiel, etc.) are all exempt from the challenges.  The challenges are meant to try to be difficult, but we try not to interfere with anything official.

lol, that would be funny BFG.

 

While it might be interesting in one of the posts between the Aiel and Band, the other thread with the WoT soundtrack might not be as interesting and it would be a bit more difficult to follow, so I consider that more "official" mainly because we want the Aiel to see what the Band is about (although spotfines are part of that) without really interefering in the posting between social groups.  I admit that I have gone back and forth on this, but I think excluding the inter-SG posts is the right call.
