The group was horrified.  One more test?  Another must die.  They recognized it selected with haste, eager to be done with this nightmare.   Moments later she fell to the pits below.  

 

Misheru was dead.

 

"So sad.  I am afraid that they chose wrong Mr. Morphy.  Alas, your life is forfeit and though you did manage to spare some with a victory."

 

"What?"

 

In an instant it was over.  The Dukes knife whipped from his coat, gleaming through the air it split, and was planted firmly in Morphy's chest.  

Morphy fell to his knees, leaning on the Duke.  The last thing he heard was a whisper, the final blow almost sung into his ear.

 

"I am afraid that only my men shall see the rest of the day."

 

Above, BG and Cloud advanced on Ithillian and Talya, both backing ever deeper into the Opera House.

He was about to die and claimed Doc to draw them out.  The mafia thought that would be the best way to use his death.  However, I didn't have a doctor.
