I'm kinda at a loss for how to do my arches - I know the ceremony stuff - it's the when you're in the arch part that I'm confused about.

 

Is what they are seeing what has happened, is happening, going to happen, or merely an illusion.  She is supposed to be facing her fears correct? and can get stuck in the arches? I'm sorry - It's been awhile since I read any of these in the books lol.

It's okay.  :)  The books aren't very clear about whether or not these are different worlds or illusions.  They don't really know, because this was a ter'angreal that was found after the Breaking.  Novices should know that channeling is EXTREMELY dangerous in the Arches, so avoid that at all costs...

 

Generally, the worlds/illusions/whatevers happen in the past, present, or future depending on the Arch, but it's almost like an alternate reality, where things happen differently.  Sometimes good things happen to where you want to stay, but once you see the Arch again, you have to abandon it, no matter how real it feels (like how Nynaeve was married to Lan.)  And sometimes, you have to escape a danger or face your fear to get to the Arch.  But it's really up to you how they manifest.
