Luckers - Member Author Share Posted December 30, 2012 As I said, there has to be an evident intent at deception for me to come down on you. Things like 'and wow boy when Rand is revealed as Gandalf I was shocked' will recieve a giggle and a nod.
AesSedaiGuy - Member Share Posted December 30, 2012 OK, thx, and we all know its Thom who is Gandalf (and a second Spoiler ... We find out he was also masquerading as Dumbledore at Hogwarts during the period we thought he was dead ...)
MattTaz - Member Share Posted December 30, 2012 anyway.......... so when Demandred said his rule is secure in ToM and Graendel had no idea what he had been up to. What was he up to and where?
Terez - Member Share Posted December 30, 2012 anyway.......... so when Demandred said his rule is secure in ToM and Graendel had no idea what he had been up to. What was he up to and where? He fell in love with a pretty girl and became convinced he was the true Savior of the prophecies.

bigdoug1971 - Member Share Posted December 30, 2012 I've always enjoyed a few spoilers for everything I enjoy. I would just like to say that I'm giggling with glee if Egwene is really dead before the end of the book. I hope her death was absolutely meaningless. It's ashame it couldn't have happened a few books earlier for me. I would have liked for Suain and Gareth to make it along with Bashere. But Gawyn was as pointless as Egwene in my opinion. I never liked either one of them.
sleepinghour - Member Share Posted December 30, 2012 (edited) I would just like to say that I'm giggling with glee if Egwene is really dead before the end of the book. I hope her death was absolutely meaningless. Her death wasn't meaningless. The more I think about it, the more it makes sense thematically: she is this era's Rashima Kerenmosa and her storyline has always mirrored Rand's. There were also early signs of her being an Eldrene parallel. Even as someone who doesn't particularly like Egwene, I think she deserved to go out in a blaze of glory if she had to die, and a large part of me would have wanted to see all main characters—including Egwene—get happy endings (reasonably happy, not Disney-like). After following these characters for twenty years, it's hard to see them die...even the ones who weren't our favorites. dfchang - Member Share Posted December 30, 2012 Without Egwene's sacrifice, reality disintegrates. It's a great death . . . probably the best in the entire series. Certainly worthy of debate

Maleshub - Member Share Posted December 31, 2012 (edited) Is it clear by chapter 40 if Sorilea is a Darkfriend? It would be nice to know if that one is resolved or not. Edited December 31, 2012 by Theodril
dfchang - Member Share Posted December 31, 2012 As of chapter 40 Sorilea has not been shown one way or another to be a dark friend.
Anrui - Member Share Posted December 31, 2012 Yes boys and girls most if not all of that takes place in Chapter 37. It's called "the Last Battle" but you might as well rename it "Repeated Kicks to Groin" cause that's how you'll feel reading it. Get your bottle of Scotch ready when you saddle up for this beauty, you'll need it. No scotch in the house, but there will be alcoholic beverages drunk as I read. And hopefully a curb nearby for the 40. I was so hoping Siuan and Gareth would make it. Dang.
Callandora - Member Share Posted January 1, 2013 Has anyone wondered why RJ or BS selected Egwene to kill Taim when Rand and Logain have had more interaction with him.

Callandora - Member Share Posted January 1, 2013 Dont think it was made up-I think peeps are just not comfortable disclosing or discussing spoilers until the release date or they havent had enough time to finish their early copies
Callandora - Member Share Posted January 1, 2013 I was kind of looking forward to Logain knocking Taim off to earn his prophesied glory
acmeraptor - Member Share Posted January 1, 2013 Man, I was ok with seeing some of the lightsider's spoilers revealed but that darksider spoiler kinda threw me into a tizzy. It's going to be a long week knowing this info is coming in, not sure if I want to keep reading everything.

fionwe1987 - Member Share Posted January 1, 2013 All I'll say is: Egwene facing Taim made sense. She has fought those who lead the channelers of the Shadow, as she leads many who fight for the Light. Taim was her opposite, in that. But her defeating Taim is a sideshow, in the end. A path to something far more important.
