Turin (Paul Atreides) v. John Snow ( Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen)

Paul

A primary theme of Dune and its sequels is Frank Herbert's warning about society's tendencies to "give over every decision-making capacity" to a charismatic leader. He said in 1979, "The bottom line of the Dune trilogy is: beware of heroes. Much better to rely on your own judgment, and your own mistakes." Paul rises to leadership through military strategy and political maneuvering, but his superhuman powers and ability to fit himself into pre-existing religious infrastructure allow him to force himself upon mankind as their messiah. As "Muad'Dib," Paul becomes the central figure of a new religion, and reluctantly unleashes a bloody jihad in his name across the universe

Feyd-Rautha

The younger nephew of the cruel, powerful and cunning Baron Vladimir Harkonnen,[1] the dark-haired, 16-year old Feyd is as lean and muscular as the Baron is morbidly obese. The Baron favors the handsome and charismatic Feyd over Feyd's older brother Glossu Rabban ("The Beast") because of Feyd's extreme intelligence and his dedication to the Harkonnen culture of carefully planned and subtly executed sadism and cruelty.

The Battle of Arrakis was nearly over. the Fremen were thrashing the remaining Harkonnen and Sardaukar forces. The Emperor had just one last gambit to try. The young confident Feyd was positive he could defeat the upstart Atreides in a duel. The Emperor would see that he had his chance.

They circled each other both holding their weapons of choice. There was a difference here today however. both had access to an additional Power. the One Power. and it would play a large part in deciding the victor today.

Um. Dang. I'm against Turin. *cries*

"You fool," Feyd-Rautha calls out. "I too was bred by the Bene Gesserit, and I will not be stopped by the likes of a savage like you."

He draws upon the source of Power that he had access too thanks to the breeding program.

Carefully, he struck. As his blade sank through Paul's shield, flame erupted in Paul's wound. The damage was incredible.

Doesn't matter, John. It's tourney stats. Turin can be beaten with tourney stats. (Especially when he dumps ten points into one element against someone who has more well-rounded stats... oh wait a minute....) Yeah, you're doomed, John.:wink:

Actually, I put 20 points in one stat, thank you very much.

John, when I said putting ten in one stat I was referring to Turin. Cause that's just what he did in my tourney fight with him a few months ago, but he left himself too vulnerable elsewhere in the process.
