Approved Ogier Bio (FL): Faran Mesa Dar'Jurai - CCed by WT

Recommended Posts

Full name: Faran Mesa Dar’Jurai

Age: 107

Physical appearance: Slightly taller than the average Ogier, with an eager face. Standard shoulder width, a fairly typical Ogier

Physical weakness: Has significantly less strength than the majority of Ogier, is not particularly fast either.

Physical strength: Makes up for his lack of strength in his endurance, able to work/walk for much longer than the majority of Ogier

Personality: Faran is a remarkably rash Ogier, a fact that has had him in a lot of trouble during his youth. His curiosity is fuelled by his rashness, leading him to be as close as Ogier come to having a troublemaker. He retains much of youth that the Ogier as a whole seem determined to ween all of their kind off of. After he hit his first century, he did settle down, however no Ogier woman has yet decided to attempt to settle him down to the level of a normal Ogier, and he is often to be found doing things no other Ogier would think of.

Personality weakness: Rashness, stubborn, significantly disposed toward violence (though only in very justified situations, never out of anger or hate, he simply is fascinated by all manner of combat).

Personality strength: Curious, gentle, empathetic, eager, naive, idealistic

Special: Faran has spent the better part of 50 years studying warriors, combat and warfare. His goal is to provide more to Ogier libraries than has ever before been recorded of the art of war. He is knowledgeable on the history of Randland, particularly the wars that forged it since the Breaking of the World.(here you can put any special skills, talents, etc you wish your character to have. Be aware that this is subject to FL Staff approval, but wherever possible we will try to accommodate you. This will highly depend on the level of probability of your choice, both for your character and for the PSW Kin)

History: Faran Mesa Dar’Jurai grew up in Stedding Sanshen, on the Blightborder in the Spine of the World. Faran witnessed a fight between some of the older Ogier and a severely depleted Trolloc Fist at twelve and since has been interested in combat, practising in secret with an axe that he crafted himself from the trunk of a dead tree he found. As he matured, he dug through Stedding Sanshen’s extensive library for everything his could find on warriors. In his studies, Faran decided that the best warriors of all are the Warders, bonded to Aes Sedai. He studied them extensively whilst learning the ins and outs of axe combat with the Elders and his closest friend Delfra Trihione. As he approached maturity (his first century) Faran had easily become the best axe-wielder in Stedding Sanshen, due to the lack of interest that most of the other Ogier of the Stedding had shown towards combat, and some natural talent. Faran has spent the last decade planning his trip to Tar Valon with Delfra absolute in secrecy, keeping their plan to themselves with great difficulty. Merely a year before their planned departure, Delfra's part in their plan was discovered, and he was promptly married off. Now settled down the only secret he keeps was Faran involvement in the plan, and he gave a well-forged axe to Faran as a parting gift. Faran plans to learn all of combat that he can from the Warders of Tar Valon, and to explore the world, seeking to discover all the he can of warfare, to document for the Great Library. He has set out on his journey to Tar Valon, barely into his second century, the beginning of what is sure to be a long and eventful journey. Where he will end, the Creator alone knows.

extra info:

this is the first Ogier bio in a long time so I'm very excited about having one of the treebrothers wandering about. The name of the stedding and location was taken by Starrik from a link on DM that lead to http://sevenbridges..../13856047&qo=10

We always learn something new, a fabulous looking map that I hadn't seen before!

although that may be due to my glasses being almost 30 years old.
