I have to admit, my favorite (favourite) music of all time is centered around three specific groups : the Beatles, Pink Floyd, and Iron Maiden. All British groups. Does this make me a member of the British Empire? Am I now expected to consume Fish and Chips on a regular basis, or is that just a stereotype?

Roger Waters and Paul McCartney are Gods......

Why hello Mr. Ishy.

Consume away, fish and chips are delish :) our music is divine.

Perhaps for you we call reconsider the ungrateful war of independence and allow you back into the fold.

Arise Sir Ishy - Knight of the British Realm.

Bob Geldof has a Knighthood. He is Irish. It's an honourary one though, cos you have to be British to have a British Title.

Also ... I thought you were American. Were you born in Ireland?

There you go again, with the superlative "U's"......

And I'm not familiar with Cars 2, we Yank's are much too busy paying attention to "real" football, not European "soccer".

Ithi, I think Ishy means that he is of Irish ancestry. In North America, people tend to refer to their ancestry informally as simply the nationality of their ancestors and say they are Irish, French, German, or whatever. Formally, it should be whatever-American. I've read online that this annoys some Europeans who are actually from the country in question that Americans will call themselves Irish (or whatever) when they were born in America and might not have ever been to Ireland in their life.

ummm actually i dont think u DO have to be british....I could qualify for a knighthood actually

I think you don't have to be British to be knighted. You do have to be British to put the "Sir" title in front of your name. Many Americans have been knighted over the years, but they are not entitled to call themselves "Sir".

That is true, but the Queen is still your Head of State. So I think maybe Canadians can too - is she still Head of state out there? How did that happen? I thought the French got Canada lol.
