Smoke cloaked the room. The trainers were all rather perplexed by Mistress Heart and her "game." Nevertheless, the trainers all let out their pokemon for a stretch. A few of the trainers realized that this would be a good time to gain some information, perhaps to knock opposing trainers out of the game. These trainers whispered to their pokemon, giving them instructions, before sending them off into the smoke.

 

Weedle didn't have any instructions from her trainer. She was simply taking in the sensation of the hard, smooth floor beneath her, and the cool whips of smoke touching her shell. She wandered along, wondering where there might be someone to play with. She saw a few a few forms moving near by, and scurried over to them. Just before she reached them however, she grew a little dizzy. She shook her head to clear it, and then saw something shiny streak down upon her.

 

"Ok, everyone, go back to your trainers so they can put you safe in your balls!" Mistress Heart waited a moment for the pokemon to do so, and after she heart a couple of voices say "return" she pulled out her own pokeball. "Go Pidgeot! Use Gust!"

"Wait!" one voice yelled.

With a brilliant show of feathers, Pidgeot soared out of her ball and used gust, clearing all of the smoke.

In the middle of the floor, curled up, was a knocked out Weedle. Ithi rushed from her spot towards it.

"Oh, Weedle..." She picked it up and rocked it in her arms. She reached for her poke ball.

"A moment. Pidgeot, return. Go Alakazam. Use Psychic" She threw her poke ball, and Alakazam came out, stepping up to Ithi and her unconscious pokemon. He stared at Weedle, his eyes turning white once more. He walked back to Heart and looked up at her.

"Not Team Rocket." She said looking up at the trainers. "Alakazam, return. Ithi, if you would?" She gestured to the chairs off to the side.

Ithi returned Weedle to her ball and sat down in one of the chairs.

Heart turned to the remaining trainers and smiled. "Let's find out who's in Team Rocket."

 

Gotcha! Hmm, considering which pokemon are team rocket affiliated my best guess would be needle or some attack to that effect. Still good to keep in mind.

By God that took a while. I started really well and got the first 30 pages read pretty fast but then it just took longer and longer. I finally did a full read though and here are my thoughts.

 

Kae I didnt have much on but Ithi I was wary of. I didn't have her as town but not as mafia either. She was on my watch list. The first thing that got her there was that instant defending of Turin. Then the meow post. I thought maybe she was hinting at the cat that team rocket has (Meowthy or something it's been a long long time since I watched it). The thing that stuck out for be about that was Smiley jumped out and changed it to a conversation about Mew

 

Mewtwo as scum would be interesting...

Now that we know she was town I feel more like he was setting her up for a lynch at a later date. I dont have any more than that for him but EP did jump in with an opinion that was interesting

 

nah if Mewtwo were in it he'd be third party he never worked with team rocket (he took their pokemon in the movie as well)

Laying the foundations for a 3rd party. But then he claims Psyduck. I don't think he would make this claim if he were a 3rd party I think Vig would have been far more logical. As mafia it would serve to pave the way for a team mate. If a third party claim does appear I say we remember this and take a closer look.

Other than that EP only really pinged when he jumped on Nyanna's case after the heat had started to die down.

I agree. That stuck out to me as well. BG you replaced Tina and claimed Cop. I assume you looked at someone last night? Did you happen to find mafia?

 

Maybe Volke is the Voltorb? But he alread crumbed Charmander. Either could be a lie.

 

Darthe, That is why I said if I must die to let the town see the truth I am willing. I think there are better candidates out there but if you doubt me then there is always one sure way to find out. otherwise any number of investigative types could check me. I have certainly made bold statements that could be LD'd. Just don't waste a tracker on me cause I ain't going anywhere tonight. I doubt I get killed cause that would just eliminate any potential WIFOM that may be out there.

Mentioning both these roles jumps out at me. You speak if you know 100% that they are in the game. Now the only way you would know that is

1. You have one of those roles

2. You are mafia with a role that lets you beat one or both of these (eg. Silver tongue)

 

I also noted that when Darthe went after you, instead of just a simple defence you went into an attack and you go after Taltos for a different reason to everyone else D1 but that vote starts one of the inital trains.

 

At this point I gave up on quotes cos it's just too intense.

Darthe - Skimming. Missed Tina getting replaced twice then missed the cop claim. Distances himself from both Nol's and Taltos' trains.

Arez - Voted Smiley D1, starts that train. He unvotes with no explaination during Ithi and Nols pokemon/trainer debate without offering an opinion at all. From there on you are just all over the place with votes. Often they are kinda random compared to what is going on in game around you.

 

Im not going to vote just yet. We have 2 days still and I want to read some bits again. For some reason Volke isnt sitting well on me. I agree with most of the points however, I just feel it isn't the right move today.

Forgive me if I've missed them, but I don't see anywhere where Volke made a scum slip. He's been a little inconsistent with his voting and hasn't really given much in reasons other than bandwagons, but I'm not seeing anything that screams he must be scum.

For example, jokevoting when that phase has long gone, posting almost nothing, and when he does, it's spam.

Dap, I didn't necessarily jump on Nya's case I questioned her but as I was happy with my vote on arez I wasn't likely to believe Nya'd be the better route

Player, not gonna quote your post cause it is on this page and I hate how long thosequotequotequote things look. The reasons I looked at Taltos and suspect him of being mafia are my own and as I have previously stated. I voted him again today to see what would happen just as I stated. So what happened? He OMGUS me right back again with what basically amounts to a "Why me?" defense. He is new and the first time you get real pressure can be unnerving. Mistakes get made. I have found him to be overdefensive. And not really having much else to say about the game. That part I can sort of let go cause D1 was a mess of spam and not much real play. It was interesting that Ithi who was one of the few actually playing got killed when there were others out there that would have apppeared to be bigger fish.

 

But back to the main storyline. I voted for the OMGUSing which has continued and the blatant bandwagon yesterday. I voted again today to se what responses I would get as there wer some that started in on me for no real reason after I pointed a finger at Taltos. Tina/BG and Darthe were two of them. I think Nya was the third. They have all been fairly quiet so far today but now you are questioning me and casting doubt about my alignment. I se this as somewhat curious. I am pretty much on record in my statements. I mentioned the LD and the tracker not because I have a clue if they are in the game but because I know what I said in my statements is in fact true and because being vanila I do not have the ability to go anywhere. So to use a track on me(if there is one) would be wasteful of town resources. During my conversation with Darthe I made it abundantly clear that I am willing to be lynched to prove I am Town. All good town shouldbe if it will help in tracking down the mafia. The object of the game is to find and eliminate the mafia. Not just to survive until the end. Only third parties and the mafia have that as their goal. This is one of the things I have learned recently as I have been playing several vanilla characters of late. It is actually quite freeing in that you can really mix it up and not worry about costing the town much if you rub someone the wrong way.

 

Bottom Line for me is I still think Taltos is likely mafia and I am curious why so many people came after me when I pointed out my concerns.

 

As for the rest. Make of it what you will. tbh I think we all probly have LD on the brain from the Labyrinth game.

The very next page he votes EP. I read the posts around the vote for context and I can't really find any. Nyanna did ask why no one had voted EP yet (and then tried to vote him, failed, and voted herself) but if volke was trying to be funny wouldn't he have said something like "Now someone has!" or...you know, something? Just a really weird vote considering he JUST made a random vote and if they really are random what's the difference between one and the other? Why bother to change if not to be funny? And if you're trying to be funny wouldn't it make sense to actually try to say something funny rather than just vote? I realize I'm going in circles now but it just doesn't add up in my head. Anyway moving on.

So...

Either a Charmander, Magmar, Vulpix/Ninetails, Growlithe/Arcanine, or Moltres hint. It would make more sense for it to be a Charmander hint since it's one of the most well known Pokemon and could probably be considered "good" since Ash and Red (the player character for the original Red and Blue games) both owned one. Although Growlithe/Arcanine is a possibility due to it being associated with officer Jenny in the show which could be hinting at some kind of investigative role. I don't see much point to hinting at this point really but I can't criticize since I hinted at my own role well before this.

Over half a dozen pages later we get this. 15 pages in and he has nothing to say. He's bandwagoning onto the biggest train at the time (mine) but if his concern was to move the game along why didn't he just bandwagon earlier? Also note that at the time it was implied I might have been a bomb. Volke doesn't comment on this. Or my roleclaim. Or anything. Just moving the game along. That's scummy if you ask me. I technically could have been considered an uncountered bomb at that point, why bandwagon onto that? Trying to push the lynch while avoiding the blast is my guess.

Just to confuse people more

Hey look. A post. This is several pages after his spam and over 25 pages into the game. And all he has to say about anything is a defense of himself? He unvotes me and votes himself. How is this in any way productive? The answer is it's not. He even contradicts his own intentions. He says he wants to move the game along but why did he then vote himself? There was no train on him. He obviously doesn't want to be implicated on another train that wont succeed which is why he doesn't vote someone other than himself. At the time Taltos had 3 votes and I still had 3 (4 before he unvoted). There were also a few people with 2 votes. So if he wants to move the game along why did he vote himself? He couldn't stay on my train because Taltos was getting heat for bandwagoning and eventually volke would get it as well. He can't OMGUS vote Taltos, that's too obvious, and no one elses train is worth the trouble of nudging since he can't justify it without actually giving some kind of reasoning. So he votes himself and bides his time.

This is in response to Turin asking if he's a Voltorb. Interesting to note that he obviously is paying close attention to all the posts if he caught that. He isn't ignoring what we say and do, he just isn't participating. Active lurking if you will. Also note this is now over 30 pages into the game ans he's yet to give any input on anything except two quick defenses of himself.

 

OK - so now I have finished your Mafia Master Class, I want you all to look around you and see what has happened. Whilst we have been arguing and shouting at each other, it has gone quiet.

 

Nya - I voted for you because of you silly outburst about having a role we needed.

Loke - I voted for you, because you are acting like this is personal, which it is not.

 

However, I don't actually think either of you are Mafia really. Sometimes it's an idea to vote for someone and see what happens. Perhaps this is what you were doing Loke, but too many times, and not Joke Votes. All votes have a reason, whether it's to lynch or draw out or pressure. There is no such thing as a joke vote. Even that 1st one you place usually has a bit of meaning.

Welcome back to the game volke. This is page 40, about 10 pages after his last post. I have to wonder if the only reason he bothered posting was because Ithi called him out. And of course we're going to get the blatant OMGUS to go with it. No explenation, not even an implication that he thinks Ithi is mafia. Just a "Cause I can lol".

Here's one of his most interesting posts I think. The ill intent is really clear here. He goes from OMGUSing Ithi to voting me on the same page, why? His OMGUS and spam and all the other stuff has gone relatively unnoticed. Ithi called him out and so did Tina but no one really payed attention. He's flying under the radar and this is obvious. So what does he do? He takes advantage of that and latches BACK onto me. The main reason for this, I think, is because he can. No one is calling him out for his scummy behaviour and his vote is all but useless on Ithi. Additionally Ithi can be a bulldog and he doesn't want to attract more attention from her so he's got to get off her ASAP before she starts actually confronting him about WHY she thinks he's scummy (which is the job I'm doing right now). Another reason is situational. Me and Thorum are going back and forth. I think there's a decent chance Thorum is scum given the way he continiously twists my words so if that hunch is right volke wouldn't want to bus his teammates this early. There is/was a decent chance I'll lose this "fight" and be lynched today. Throum even includes me on his list of people that should be consolidated on. Volke again doesn't give any tangible reason. His "gut" is saying to vote me. I wonder if his guts name is Thorum? There are plenty of ways you could twist and turn my words and actions to paint me as scummy. Blatantly lying for one. But volke doesn't bring up any of that, even though as we've shown he is definitely paying attention to the game and is aware of all that's happened. The reason for him not bringing anything up isn't because he can't it's because that opens the door for argument and he wants to keep flying under the radar. You can't really argue against "I have a feeling".

 

I have no clue EP. The only spinning pokemon other than Rhyhorn's horn, that I can think of is in Gen II.

Unless they are talking about a pokemon that used firespin alot....

Dap I can see how it can be read that way but I believe that most understood that I was stating that if Taltos were mafia as I believe he is that HE would be the one to know who the townies were and be able to just jump on any town player that could possibly gain an easy lynch. This was discussed before and I think most reasonable folks had decided that it was pretty much resolved.

 

I know that you are replacing into this spamfest and that it would be easy to miss one little thing like that. I am merely geting a little concerned that perhaps you and the others are merely taking turns at trying different angles to cast doubt on me. waiting to see if one will gain traction so that they can join in with the town to get rid of me.

Dap the two people I was going to vote, yes one of them is dead, Ithi. The other was the guy you just replaced lol, Thorum. I was gonna wait and see how they started off the new day. Considering Ithi got knocked out during the night. Which surprises the hell outta me to be honest, and that Thorum left and you took his place. I figured Id better reread through things and see what I find.

Because I have reread most of the thread, and all of his Votes havent been on any bases other than, him claiming the person is scum.

Also he randomly smacked someone in the head with a fish, as his way of arriving to the island.

Not to mention most of his posts have been Spam (not that Im innocent for doing the same thing lol. In fact None of us are)
