Pokemon League Mafia Game Thread--GAME OVER--Congrats Town!!!

We've just spent an entire page nostalg-ing about pokemon, the proper mafia players probably have no idea whats cracking

Yeah...I've done a likkle research on my pokemon but apart from that I have not a shimmer what this is all about

Going through stuff now to post my answers&ideas

Heh I dunno how much of this is coherent *yawny* but I shall still stay up longer because I can't seem to stop checking these threads!

 

 

But based on the amount of nudging I am seeing I am becoming more and more convinced that Taltos is not. No one really questioned me until then so I am guessing that it is a case of teammates trying to cast some aspersion. Now Darthe started it but the mafia are not usually the ones that throw the first stone. They generally wait for an opportunity to present itself and then pile on. So Iirc correctly Tina and Nya were the last two to fit that category.

 

All in all tho I am thinking Taltos is the best candidate. Even if he is new. However, if Town would like to take a look at either Tina or Nya I suppose Taltos could get a D1 noob pass.

 

I know that in expressing an interest in Nold's or Turins slight thingimabob wording 'slip', either way I was gonna be looked at strange by some people. I've just really entered the game so to speak and was trying to latch onto something and participate whilst having to clue anyway so I realize that both trains are pretty wobbly. But hey, how can we start on feeling out any scummies unless we start suspecting someone

And the whole Taltos thing...I dunno, first game and all - I agree on the noob pass thing. Lol.

What is this case on Turin that I'm hearing so much about? Nobody seems to actually HAVE a case on Turin except for Darthe that I have read, and that case consists entirely of Turin's wording. I don't see anything scummy about the way he worded it. To me, it reads that it is very mafia like to pick a random townie to vote.

 

Which means that he is inferring that Taltos is scum. Which would mean that Taltos knows who is town and who is not.

 See above for my reason that I said Turin could be interesting to look at. I don't really firmly suspect anyone as of now, so just scrabbling to find a foothold or some kind of scummy thing to latch on.

Speaking of scummy...hmm, I'm surprised at your fast voting. I haven't even FoSed Turin, only posted something once - and Tina was speaking up about the case before me too. So why would you suddenly vote me, not Tina for that matter? You could be a scummie trying to hold up a scapegoat, on whatever thin ground you're on. Or maybe cos we've both FoSed a member of your mafia team? (even if it was by a lucky guess or something, not solely because of his wording, which can be interpreted in a few ways).

Or, you could be an honest citizen trying to find some kind of scummy reaction from me, which frankly, I don't think I'm capable of giving seeing as I'm town and all. :)

 

Ok. So we've had about three people now who have said they are interested in the 'Turin Case' without actually doing much or voting for him. Let me explain what this is. 

 

This is the Mafia Team gently prodding Town to start voting for someone with no real good reason, so they start a train and then Mafia can sneak on the end and blame the Town when whoever they have selected as their Chosen One flips Town also. 

 

Look at him, he's sneaky they say. Vote him they whisper - but they don't actually explain why or what they don't like about it cos they know it is rubbish and they don't vote either, cos they want Town to start the ball rolling. 

 

I will do a suspect list for you when I get on the laptop and can track down the people who have been nudging so far.

 

That all sounds very nice and logical. All I think I've really done is prick my ears somewhat hoping to pick up soooomething slightly scummy at least. Besides, people have been subtly FoSing other players too for a while, but I forgive you for getting a bit ruffled about your Warder, a bit of protectiveness is only natural of course

Hmmm I see I've been saying 'FoSing' a lot in the above post, even though I said I hadn't FoS'd Turin. That word or abbreviation or whatever it is, is really far too convenient for its own good. you know what I mean.

 

Well you probably dont, or will probably leap at the chance to twist ickle sentences like the one above to suit your own suspicions so I guess I had better explain after all I have only been expressing a slight, totally innocent interest in that whoever feels strongly about the 'Turin case' to elaborate on their argument. Simply because I'm lazy and want someone to persuade me that someone is behaving scummy enough to deserve a vote FoSing Turin would be like going "Cripes people did you see how much that dubious wording reeks of scumminess?? I'd like some other's thoughts on how mafia he is behaving, to encourage my own strong inclination to vote for him!!"

 

... probably would be more elegantly worded. But something I'm sure I didn't mean :P

Yeah I think that we aren't necessarily going to stick to the anime mold for bad pokemon.

 

There were basically six or so pokemon that team rocket used in the anime in the first season

i havent read up on them, but cant team rocket have normal pokemon too? To try blend in? Like the Nazgul rode horses too although they could've had reaally evil beasties to ride around on the ground Im sure.

OK here we go Team Rocket pokemon (in anime):

 

Meowth

Ekans (who evolves into Arbok)

Koffing (who evolves into Weezing)

Victreebell

Lickitung

 

that's all for the anime

 

in the game rockets usually had:

 

Zubat (or evolved form golbat)

rattata (or evolved form raticate)

there might have been voltorb (evolved form electrode)

 

there were probably one or two more, but they didn't have a massive variety of pokemon

Nolder, why did you fake claim Voltorb and what good did it do to town?

A few reasons

1. I was bored with the game. I felt like it was moving slowly and there just wasn't any discussion going on that seemed relevant.

2. I wanted to stir things up Re: reason 1.

3. Looking for reactions specifically to my claim.

4. As I said, I'm vanilla. If things backfired and I was lynched because of it that's really the best result for town aside from an actual scum lynch which is rare on day 1. In a way you could call it protecting any power roles we have.

 

As for what good it did the town, that's debatable of course. Could have had a negative impact on the game. Might have had none. Mafia games are really complicated especially while they're still ongoing. I don't think I could make the call whether it had any impact at all at this point.

So, in your opinion, which pokémon are mafia-affiliated? 18 players would mean about 6 mafia (which would probably mean 2 teams? I don't know)

of the original 151 I would look out for these Pokemon: Ekans, Arbok, Zubat, Golbat, Meowth, Persian, Kadabra, Alakazam, Graveler, Golem, Gastly, Haunter, Gengar, Drowzee, Hypno, Voltorb, Electrode, Cubone, Marrowak, Koffing, Wheezing, Gyarados, Mewtwo.

 

Note that most of these pokemon wouldn't necessarily be mafia/rocket aligned. But if they're around they could possibly have some nasty roles even if they're town so just be careful of these.
