Welcome New Guy! I mean, SB!

Glad you've found us here at Dragonmount... since you've read only the first couple of books I did want to toss out the obligatory spoiler warning -- the general book discussion threads assume everyone has read up to Towers of Midnight, and spoiler warnings are not required in those threads. The Structured discussion section does have it broken down book-by-book in addition to specific character threads, so you're less likely to get inadvertently spoiled there.

I would, however, like to suggest you make sure to check out the Social Groups area -- there are a lot of great people to meet and tons of fun to be had in that section. Poke around a bit and feel free to ask any questions you may have, there are some very helpful folks hereabouts who would be happy to answer whatever you'd like to know.

Enjoy!!

Hi and welcome to DM, Sb! Glad you joined :)

Do you already have a favourite character?

Feel free to ask if you've got any questions. I hope you'll like it here!!

I did kinda figure on spoilers being tossed about in much of the forums

I cant put a definitive fav on a character this early, but for now probably Rand [so original I know]

EDIT: actually, one question has burned within me, how to pronounce Aes Sedai, now the Sedai part I got [sed-dai] its the Aes, as a long A sound like Aether or a long E sound like Aesop's Fables or even like a long A-E like how theae [as one character] was pronounced in the old days, still the last way is the long I sound as it was in Latin

little help?

Welcome to DM!

I pronounce Aes as ace. But it could be wrong. Some pronunciations I have not been able to correct. Like Aiel, I keep pronuncing it ale.

Is there any favourite scene of yours? There's bound to be since there are interesting scenes in Eye of the World and Great Hunt.

Have fun around here!

Personally, I pronounce the both parts like in Latin, but I'm not much of a help in this thing. My native language is Finnish where all the words are pronounced just the way they're written. I couldn't figure out the English way to pronounce it (which I usually use in translated literary), so I continued on my own way :P

I listened to all of the books on audiobook so I just pronounce it the same as the readers, however at times their pronunciations vary a bit.
