The Fisher King - Member Posted March 16, 2012 (edited) Not talking about villians, dark gods, badass evil wizards, or even bad guys...just A Holes. Jerks. Smug, condescending SOBs, lol ...Books, Tv, movies...its all fair game!!! Ill start with Bashir from DS9. Another on my list is Couladin from WOT. How bout Littlefinger from ASOIAF? ... Bruce Wayne is kinda a jerk - at least in the new movies. Ser Jaime Lannister of ASOIAF. Bauden from Malazan. Maybe, for me, the biggest jerk EVER is High Prince Roelstra (from Melanie Fawn's Sunrunner novels). Although, in that same series, Andrus runs Roelstra a close second. Who'd I miss? Red2111 - Member Posted March 19, 2012 Lucius Malfoy. words cannot describe how much i loathe and detest this character, both in the books and in the movies (jason isaac is such a wonderful actor ) i cannot express enough the amount of want i have to reach into the book and snatch Lucius bald headed, and honestly i don't think he was punished enough. next in line is Snape; i'd love to pistol whip him. it's all his fault anyways. then theres Joff from ASoF&I. i'd put that boy over my knee and give him a whippin he woudln't soon foget, king or not. least we not forget the Mountain or the Goat as well, whose deaths i felt were too decent and not painful enough. oh and can i just group the Chan in together from Wot. everytime i read tGH i get so mad i cry when Egwene gets collared. for that alone, i hope the entire nation burns to the ground, even though Tuon is cool. Oh, I totally forgot about that guy, haven't read those books in ages. Angus Thermopyle from Stephen R. Donaldson's Gap Series is quite the jerk. Cadusane, especially when viewed critically; the author uses her to glorify cruelty and bullying under the very dark view that these are the only things that give culture the strength it needs to survive. But even without interpretation, the chracter is a huge ass, and only her gender gets in the way of seeing it.

Have you read RJ's notes on the character? http://www.theorylan...vmain.php?i=652 Not to mention in the books she almost always treats people exactly as they deserve and always has a goal in mind. Bullying is just one of the many various tactics we see her use, as RJ said she is a "remarkably adaptable" woman. As for the lesson she was imparting on Rand, it was exactly the opposite. He was so strong as to be brittle and she had to teach him "laughter and tears". Edited May 2, 2012 by Suttree

Jaedan_edhel - Member Posted May 26, 2012 Captain Kirk. (Although it is also a poor reflection on all the silly women who were taken in by him. I feel he is the second most patronising character ever created.) Commander Riker (The Wannabe Kirk. There's no point smiling like that, because I'm not impressed, and there's no point drawing yourself up to your full height because I'm a short-arse and everybody is taller than me, anyway - You are not special in that respect!) Deanna Troi (The most patronising character ever created.) Bashir... except he did seem to grow out of it. (All this being said, I am, in fact, a Star Trek fan!) Aragorn. (Who tells off a nurse for talking too much, but hangs around outside the hall for long enough to recite his many titles!)
