Heh, that reminds me of something that happened in Health class the other day. So, we were correcting our quizes, and this one girl shouts out to our teacher and says something like, "Hey, Mr. Olson! This question was marked right on my quiz, but it's actually wrong. You should give me the point back for being honest though." She seriously said that. And what made it even worse, was that my teacher did give her the points.

a why do threads get moved to the village when thye hit 150? particularly if they are still going????

OK these HAVE to be done on a different board. If that is the case why are they not eligible for hot thread points? You arnt allowed to do them here. In a worse case scenario that thread could be finished in like 11 posts so getting it to 60 is a pretty good go isnt it?

You'll get access when the Admins add you, which can take a bit sometimes. (Doesn't help that Talmanes isn't here to send the Admins the information)

 

That is to create circulation on the main board. If we never moved topics and peopled kept creating them (and posting in them), then we would have a ridiculous amount of topics. As a general rule, the amount of active topics should max out at around the amount that can fit on one page.

 

I'm sorry, but I don't see why 50 questions should get Hot Thread points. I mean, if you're going to go there and make that case, then there's a hundred more similar ones that pop up. (Besides, Lessa does all them anyway....the way I see it, you're merely trying to make this case, so I'll give you 5 points)

Plus I was overdosing on the taint as those 2 days were inexplicably quiet here so i got more then my usual dose of taint and it went to my head!! then it got worse when i went for a trip thru the ways and had a little run in with Machin Shin

If a thread goes from 1-100 in the same month would it recieve the 5 points for hitting 50 plus the 10 points for hitting 100 or just the 10 points for hitting 100?

This is my point. A legitimate HOT thread that goes all the way up to 150 in one month will get moved, whereas more slowly growing threads will get points for each stage they hit. As long as they grow by 50 posts each month :)

no if it goes to 100 it will just get the 10 points. best guess. and they wont go to the village until they're done earning points, nothing past 150 is possible.

Yeah, I see your point Ithi, the whole thing seems kinda hypocritical to have it that way since they're supposed to be "hot" threads. If you have a suggestion for a better way to do, I'd be glad to hear it.

 

That said, people don't milk the threads to get as many points as possible, so it's not too big of a deal.

plus it gives people who aren't here as much a way to earn more points, which evens things about a tiny little bit, or at least improves them, for people who don't live here.

but seriously lessa actually told me to bring it up with u and my thinking wasn't just for me.. It kinda ties into what cindy was saying about opening up the points to earn more.
