Folk Metal? I've never heard that term used before. What's an example of Folk Metal?

Also, I like 90's Grunge and Alt Rock. Examples are Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, System of a Down, Avenged Sevenfold, Audioslave, Cake, Collective Soul, Korn, Tool, Rage Against the Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Alice in Chains, Screaming Trees, Silverchair, Foo Fighters, Green Day...

I think you get the picture.

I'm not limited to that, I also like 80's hair bands and Metal like G n' R, Bon Jovi, Poison, Black Sabbath, Metallica, Meatloaf and 60's/70's Hard Rock like Queen, Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Foreigner, Deep Purple, The Who, Iron Butterfly, CCR, Bad Company and last but not least Jimi.

I'm not totally living in the past though, some newer-ish stuff I like is Modest Mouse, Black Keys, Dead Weather, HELLYEAH, 3 Doors Down, Gaslight Anthem, Alterbridge, Dropkick Murphy's, Menomena, My Darkest Days, Saliva, Shinedown, Velvet Revolver, Wolfmother,

I like a lot of different music. When I´m angry I listen to angry music and when I´m happy I listen to pop or dance music. I can´t really say I live in the present when it comes to music because I never listen to radio so I´m never up to date. Some of my favorites:

Nirvana, Perl Jam, Garbage, Björk and Avril. When I dance I like Lady Gaga, Shakira, Pink or trance. I don´t often go out to dance these days but I like rave parties.

I think my brain stopped working because I can´t come up with more.

Band from Eclipse list that I listened to before are Metallica, Poison and G n´R.

A lot of Canadian artists:Michael Buble, Avril, Shania Twain and Nickelback. A lot of stuff from the 90's:Britney Spears(90's stuff only), Backstreet Boys and N'SYNC. Um...what else:Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Blind Guardian and Queen

Blind Guardian... The only Metal name I recognize. Do you listen their older or their newer albums? Or both? I only have listened the last five albums (and that awful The Forgotten Tales. I thought that was an album too)

I like some of the bands that each person has mentioned. Me personally I listen to about everything but country music, which I despise. I'm also not a fan of rap or hip hop for the most part, and not too much pop either.

Generally, the harder the better. I'm a total Metal Head. I prefer high screams and so listen to a lot of Melodic Death bands like At The Gates, Dark Tranquility, Nightrage, etc.

Some of my other favorite bands are Haste The Day, Demon Hunter (both Christian Locke) and Asking Alexandria, but only for their first album. I'd never go to one of their concerts again either, because the suuuuuuucked live.

@Leyrann - You should look up the band Eluveitie. They are a Folk/Melodic Death band I recently discovered, and they are pretty awesome.

Also I looooove Nightwish and Firewind. Also The Menzingers are another recently discovered band I really like.

@Talmanes, if you like Melodic Death Metal and Folk/Death Metal, you should also listen Equilibrium (Melodic Death) and Ensiferum (Folk with a bit Death). Ensiferum is one of my three favorite bands, and Equilibrium is very good if you want to concentrate on something. With grunting, that is much easier than with singing.

And I'll have a look at that band, Talmanes.

Hah, yeah, but not a huge fan of the metal or harder rock genre. (I have a friend who really likes screamo, and he showed me this Christian band he listened to, and I was just like "......" and that was that)
