Yes, it does occasionally, but the worst that's done for me was waking me up in the middle of the night for about 10 seconds :P

Maybe you'd find it cool here, but I'm sweating in my dorm with a fan blowing on me so *shrug* :)

Yay! I sound "lovely"

Join the wolfkin so I can dunk you in chili and spray you with tequila! :P you'd fit right in there! I believe Despo already has....?

Yes he has :D

Yikes! I hope the tequila is the chaser.

Well between you and Despo I think the fates have spoken; I will, in fact, join the wolfkin tonight. I had been leaning that way but this decides it. I think Despo subliminally wove my thread in that direction last night.

Me? Sow discord? Never, the Main RP Admin keeps me on too short a leash :D

Hmmm... a leash you say? Sounds kinky. Or have you been sneaking a little Saiden on the side?

Whops I meant to watch this topic. Anyhoo I'll see you over in the Wolfkin Corwin! Already diggin your skill with words, I can see you'll get quite a lot of fans parlaying quips back and forth like that. I mainly just bang my head on the keyboard and edit out the stuff that doesn't make sense.

Well, it's much more comfortable to be mad and know it, than to be sane and have doubts.

Aww, you're too kind.

I needed the ego boost though - I just finished a brutal radiology class that made me feel like an idiot. I tell ya they can see right through you!

Sorry, couldn't resist. But seriously it's been a tough class.

I'm just now joining over in Wolfkin, I wanted to wait till I put the finishing touches on a variation of the avatar idea you gave me yesterday. Making the rose silver wasn't easy. I couldn't just make it gray so I had to use a few tutorials to get the effect right. I'll probably tinker with it a little more this weekend.

No, that's my major. I'm wanting to get into ultrasound and nuclear medicine mostly. The demand here is amazing so it should be really good pay once I'm done. I just hadn't expected it to be so... I guess exhaustive is the right word. I intended to start reading WoT over a year ago but a friend told me to wait till I could really sink my teeth into it. I wasn't able to do that until this summer thank god. I guess I would have been here a long time ago otherwise.

Thanks about the avatar. Now that I've dusted off photoshop I think I'll start working on a sig banner.

So I forgot to ask when you mentioned your fiance - do you guys have a date set? Also I was curious what caused you to end up in SC.

Well, well, you're just full of surprises aren't you? Anything else we should know? Have you climbed Mt. Everest or gone lava surfing or something? :P

Let's think here for a second: "nuclear medicine" ponder on that for a moment; any kind of medicine requires a ton of studying, and nuclear engineers and such also have a ton of studying to do, and you're combining them. Duh it's exhausting! :P

You can become one of the people that makes sigs for other people on here :P maybe then you can do mine!

Wait.... Despo gets rid of the stuff that doesn't make sense? Odd.....

Waitwaitwait fiancé? Who has a fiance? Despo? Despo has a fiance?

COOOONGAAAAAAATS!!!!!!!!!!

A wedding? I love weddings! Drinks all around!!!

Friendship? Elgee I fear you are mistaking "Friends" for "Captive" again.

There's a difference?

Nuclear medicine? Very interesting field that, Corwin. My sister was a radiologist - she actually worked with Chris Barnard when he started doing heart transplants.

Oh boy, I didn't mean to sound like I was boasting or anything. Actually nuclear medicine is just injecting a radioisotope and recording the scanner that picks up the radiation. I wouldn't actually be doing the diagnosis though.

I hope I didn't spill the beans on Despo but it came up during a thread not a PM so I think I'm safe *whew!*

Wow! That was back in the 60's. I think that was in your neck of the woods if I remember correctly. He came up in class a couple of times along with Michael DeBakey from Houston, my hometown. It must have been exciting to have worked with someone that famous.

Oh I didn't think you were boasting, just keep finding out new stuffs about you that seems impressive. Especially when all I'm studying to be is an Intervention Specialist (that's my school's term for a Special Education teacher ;P ) All of my classes are pretty easy so... Yeah not sure where I'm going with that so I'll leave it at that :P

;) Yeah, I guess I am! My only other forum experience also used the IP Board brand of forum so when I came here it looked very familiar - other than the color scheme - and we had a pretty big selection of smilies to play with. Guess I got used to them. Every board seems to have it's own way of talking though, kind of like an accent. But there is something comfortable about the traditional ones, I've noticed quite a few people here use them.

They're actually two seperate groups, one's for RPing, one's for socializing. You can easily do both, if you want. Obviously I won't try to drag you away from the RP board because it seems you have taken a fancy to the idea of it and your writing style is too good to not put to use in some way :jordan: (<---- Robert Jordan smily, my fave!). Once again, I thought I'm watching this topic, but it's not sending me notifications. Hrmm....

To answer your question Corwin we do have a date, it's actually comin up real soon (as long as one of us doesn't kill the other one before it happens), October 23rd! Don't worry you didn't reveal my engagement lol, I post it everywhere when introducing myself, Aiel Heart must just not pay me any attention (jking Aiel Heart  ). I didn't realize you also had a talent for photoshopping Corwin, I too might be requesting siggys from you from time to time... To be honest I already have some ideas so PM me if you get some time to kill (which will probably be tough for you trying to fit in time between open heart surgery and designing new fusion core reactors).

I got in SC cause my Mom originally moved us when I was 9, and I kept goin back and forth and to a few other places as well. Then when I got out of the Air Force I moved in with my Mom to get back on my feet. I intended to stay a short amount of time and then move to Texas, but before I knew it I had met a girl... and you know where that ended up lol. Still hopin she gives in and we can move back to Texas together, I miss it more than what seems normal for a reasonable amount of time for someone to miss their home, even if they are from Texas.

That's strange, I've been having notification problems too. I get emails ok but I don't get the notifications within the site. I'm fairly certain I have everything checked right in my settings but I guess I need to go line by line and make sure.

Anyway... I understand what you guys are going through being this close to the wedding day. It just gets crazy right up until you take the vows it seems. We were lucky because we had our date planned for May the year we got married, but the year before - in November - I found out my credit was not good enough to get a loan for our house so we had to do a joint loan to qualify, but they would only approve it if we were already married.

It took a couple of days to convince our pastor but that week we got married in his office with his secretary as a witness and we didn't tell anyone. The following year in May we had our ceremony as planned and the one thing everyone said about my wife was that she was the calmest bride they'd ever seen!

Now this is gonna make your head spin: the loan was a VA loan. That's right, in addition to everything else we appear to have in common, I'm also an Air Force vet. My AFSC was 275X0, Forward Air Control and Radio Repair. I was at Ft.Hood as a liaison and later at Kelly when it was Security Hill *age hint, please ignore*.

I sincerely hope you win that battle and get to come back here; I'd like nothing more than to spend an evening talking over beer, tea or whatever. Hell maybe even chili and tequila!

Lol that's a great marriage story, very sneaky sneaky! Yeah I have a feeling the stress of the big event is what's driving us up the walls right now, hopefully things will settle down once were hitched.

When I was in the Air Force I was 2A0X1A, Avionics Test Stations and Equipment. I had only one permanent duty station, Kadena ABS in Okinawa, Japan. I had a blast over there, till I was forced to sell my RX7 for about 1/20th of it's value (long story). Once that happened, among other disasters coinciding at that time, I went from stellar airman to dirtbag pretty quickly lol, then forceshaped when I found out about that (general seperation, they were tryin to get a bunch of people out at the time). Dunno why I filled you in on all that, but there it is.

I'm still hoping I'll win, the only kicker is that she's really close to her family, but luckily I'm corrupting her day by day till she forgets all about em and joins mine in Texas. You have any kids? I have a little girl (well technically she's Niki's [my fiance] but I've been around since she was born so I kinda consider her my own  ) who's just about to turn 4, cutest thing in the world.

Kadena huh? I was able to swing a trip to Tokyo during a brief stay in Guam. Sadly the Imperial Palace was closed for renovations, but I had a great time playing around the subway and seeing the sites. I managed to get some good pictures from the top of the Tokyo Tower, even though it was raining at the time. I was only in Guam for a short TDY while I was stationed at Kwang Ju AB for a year. That happened between Ft.Hood and Kelly btw.

Sorry about your RX7, that sucks. So you mentioned the Air Force was trying to get people out, that's interesting because I was part of the base closings period and they did the same. That wouldn't be around the same time would it?

I have one kid, a boy, best thing that ever happened to me. I quit smoking and started getting in shape again because he saw Frequency with me and it made a big impression. If you have a chance to catch the movie you'll understand - also it's a really great movie.

Good luck with the corrupting angle, I hope it works for you. I've managed to corrupt mine into watching action/sci-fi movies. Of course she's corrupted me so that I watch romantic comedies and dramas so I'm not really sure who won.

Yeah, Frequency is a really good movie, and I know I was glad when my Dad quit smoking. Fun fact: my parents met each other in the Air Force, in Guam, which is where they had my older sister Olivia.

Relationships really are about give n take, tug and pull kind of thing huh? I know a lot of Niki and I have rubbed off on the other. So what kind of beer, tea, chili, and tequila do you prefer? And yes, you have to answer for each one.

I go to sleep and this thread expodes!!! Corwin--go to your profile (you can just click on your pic anywhere to do that--there's always one in the top right corner of the page) and then underneath your profile pic on that page you will see "my content" click on that.

The darker ones are the ones that have been posted in since you posted in (or at least have been posted in recently....) red/pink means that it is a popular thread (red being that it was posted in recently) and brown/light brown is not so popular (can you figure out which color means what for this one?)

When I was a freshman in high school I was thinking about the air force... Then I realized there was no way I was ever going to have the self discipline to get myself in shape enough :P but you two just got even higher awesomeness levels!

I had forgot to mention that after I was at Ft.Hood and before I went to Kelly I was at Randolph AFB followed by a year in Korea (Kwang-Ju). When that station was closed we all moved everything to Anderson in *ta da* Guam! I shouldn't be surprised at this point huh?

Okay so here goes my list. When it comes to beer, if I'm going for cheap then it's Miller Lite but if I'm wanting something with more character and taste for that matter, it would be either Shiner Bock or Newcastle Ale.

For tea (I'm assuming iced since niether of us are British :P) I just like fresh brewed restaurant tea by the pitcher - no sugar.

Now with tequila, if I'm going to mix it with something then Jose Cuervo or Tarantula Plata if I can get it, but if I want just a good shot or more of straight tequila I'd prefer Zafarrancho Gold. Both gold though, I'm not a big fan of silver or mezcal generally.

Finally chili. I don't like recipes that are super hot but I don't want plain either. It's harder to say on chili because it's more of a home cookin' kind of thing rather than restaurant. I know with or without beans can be controversial but for me it has to have beans (ranch style usually), good chili meat (round or chuck as long as it's not ground beef), chopped onions, ground cumin, some oregano and garlic and as much chili powder as you want and tomato puree and tomato juice. You can add whichever fresh chili peppers you like and let them flavor the batch. This is my family's recipe here. It's the mild version but I prefer mine a little hotter.

Ha, I know you didn't ask for the chili to be that specific but I started thinking of the way I would cook it and got carried away!
