Themes of the Series

Good vs. Evil (duh). Opposition in all things (light vs. dark, men vs. women, good vs. evil, "God" vs "Devil", etc.). History repeats itself. Our view of history is flawed from what really happened (is that a "theme"?). What else...?

The "themes" of WoT:

- Women are smarter than men.

- Men should submit to female authority at all times because they are too stupid to breathe on their own without being told how.

- If you can take being spanked and still act like an arrogant bitch, you deserve to rule the world.

- She who glares best (and most) wins.

- Men are war mongers; women are "stabilizers".

- Sexism is only acceptable if it's against men.

- Rape is supposed to be funny when the victim is male.

- Slapping people is cool...if you're a woman.

- If anything goes wrong, blame a man.

- If you can abuse your friends and justify it in your own mind ("she deserved it", "he's too arrogant and needs to be taken down a peg", etc.), go for it.

- Being a tyrant is only acceptable if you're a woman and you do it with a calm facade. Otherwise, it's evil.

- Demanding complete deference from someone you treat like garbage is expected, and admirable, if you're female and in a position of power.

Almost forgot the most important one...

- Physical violence against the opposite sex is only bad if it's done to a woman. Attacking a man, however, (be it with magic or simply beating on him), is supposed to be awesome and acceptable behavior. Oh, and if he fights back, he's evil.

the bad guys are hopeless.

And ridiculously stupid. Then again, the good guys aren't exactly shining examples of brilliance either. Most of the people in the series are so utterly stupid that most of us could go in there and be their tyrant in no time flat.

Why bother reading the books if you seem to hate/dislike all the characters?
