Full Character Name: Gera Mondwin

Part 1 - Out of Character

1.1. Which Ajah do you aspire to join and why?

Gera wishes to become a Blue sister because she feels the most connected to this group of Aes Sedai, both because of their methods and their passion. Gera was a spy mistress in Cairhien, so the Blue propensity to use E&E suits her well, as does their familiarity with Daes Dae’mar. In her Turnings of the Wheel, Gera found out that her son, his woman, and her grandson were murdered by a former rival of Gera’s. Those were her last ties to the old life, and she dedicated herself at that point to using her gifts to support the Tower. That will be her calling, her cause.

1.2. How old would you place your Aes Sedai in the Main Timeline? Remember that Sitters must be at least 90 years of Age to sit in the Hall. (Information on the Aes Sedai Aging system is on both the Website and the WT Structure Board)

Gera is a Salidar Sister, and so because she came to the Tower at 51, she shouldn’t be more than 60 in the Main Timeline.

1.3. Have you role-played with any members of your aspiring Ajah? If so, who? What sort of impact did that member have on your character?

No, I’ve not RPd with any Blues... but I’d welcome the experience.

1.4. Define freely what your character sees to be her Ajah's purpose? Does if differ from the norm?

Gera sees the Blue Ajah as a place to catch potential before it is wasted. The other Ajahs all have clear, concise purposes, but the Blues seek after Justice and Causes, and they snap up the women who don’t necessarily fit into the more narrow purposes of the other Ajahs. They aren’t just a place for the rejects of the other Ajahs, but rather they are a place for those who would be stifled in the other Ajahs.

1.5. What kind of a role would you like your character and you OOCly to have in your Ajah and in the White Tower?

Gera will do her best to get involved with the Blue E&E, and I think would be a good person to send out to serve as Advisor to a king or queen of a smaller nation to give them Tower support. Assuming that there are freelanders willing to play as nobles of a smaller nation. OOC... in the Blues, I can see myself writing classes or materials, or filling whichever role is needed. If necessary, I'd love to help review bios or do any other task that's needed.

Part 2 - In Character Development

2.1. What kind of a woman was your character when she was enrolled as a novice and what kind of a woman is she now?

Gera hasn’t changed much at all in the years she has been in the Tower. When she arrived, one of her first tasks she set herself was to spy on the women within the Tower. She has always, and will always, consider people by how useful they are to her goals. Considering her goals are the betterment of the Tower, she will judge novices and Accepted based on how they will give their talents and strength to the Tower. Gera does not sugar coat things. While she can smile and be friendly, if the best interests of the Tower meant sacrificing a friend, she would do it... she would weep later, but she would still do it.

2.2. What have been the most important, defining events in her life and how have they changed her? Separate the events to life before the Tower, life as novice and life as Accepted. Who are the people that have affected her life the most as Novice and as Accepted and how have they done that?

Before the Tower:

-Being selected to succeed her old Master, taking over his web

-Losing her lover, Luc, to a rival’s hired murderer

-Having a son

As a novice:

-Getting caught spying within the Tower, and the punishment that came from that mistake

As an Accepted:

-Losing her son and his family

2.3. What are your character's weaknesses? Strengths? What is her inner struggle? What is her philosophy of life?

Her weakness is that she sees people in such a stark utilitarian way. Every person she meets is either a tool to use or another player who might threaten her goals. It is a very cold existence, though she tries to warm it with building friendships within the Tower.

2.4. What three words best describe your character's personality?

Cold. Calculating. Crisp.

Part 3 - The Role of an Aes Sedai

3.1. What do you think the role of an Aes Sedai is ICly?

The role of an Aes Sedai is to guide the world and to prepare it for the Last Battle. The only reason Gera was allowed to come to the Tower to learn is because the sisters recognize how close the Last Battle is, so, for Gera, every sister must focus her efforts on that goal. The world must be prepared, and the Tower must be guiding it.

3.2. What has been the greatest sacrifice your character has made to become an Aes Sedai?

She walked away from her entire life. She was successful as a merchant of secrets, and could have gone on for many more years in that career. She’d eliminated her rivals and had a son who was poised to take over when she stepped down. She left all of that because the Tower offered her something more, it offered her a life that wouldn’t end in a decade or two, and access to power and games she’d only dreamt of before. To Gera, it was worth the sacrifice.

3.3. How is your character going to Serve All?

Gera, wherever she goes, will work toward supporting the Tower because the Tower’s purpose is to protect and guide the world. By protecting the Tower, she protects the world.

3.4. What would you like your character to achieve? What are her ambitions in life? What kind of RP plans do you have in mind for your Sister?

I would like to send Gera to RP with the freelanders, the nobles, and potentially have her be part of swaying them to supporting the Dragon.

3.5. How does your character feel about Warders in general and of the whole bonding?

A bond could be a useful thing, though she would need to find a man who can both protect her body and keep up a mentally stimulating conversation. Gera would not suffer a fool to be tucked into part of her mind.
