But if I don't have anything to say, I CAN'T bring myself to do ANYTHING!

Substance is key.  I think you are wise to hold your tongue when you don't have anything to add!

 

The only thing I'd suggest is that if you can't think of anything RELEVANT, just say the first thing that DOES come to your mind.
