meat biscuits???

never seen that before

They true biscuits with meat on or are they an interpretation?

yes they are amazing. I tried uploading a picture but it didn't work. It's just a biscuit with sausage, chicken, ham or steak between with egg and cheese. If you ever come to the states pretty much every fast food joint has one but Bojangles is the best. Here is a link so you can see.

and here we have an example of confused lexacon.

Unless I miss my guess Impey's biscuits are what we call cookies.  So that would indeed sound weird.  I'm not really sure what you would call our biscuits Impey..... little ball of Baked bread akin to pie dough in that they share some of the same base ingredients; flour, salt, shorting only the biscuits has a lower gluton ratio and in turn a higher liquid (Buttermilk normally for its acid activation of the baking soda rather than the pie doughs water)....... yep I like biscuits.

Perhaps more of a scone or and I'm not shre but I do think some cultures call them cakes and use them for "shortcakes."

I think we still call them cookies, only we don't have layers of classification for cookies.  We use the term as more of a defining noun ie,  Chocolate chip, oatmeal, shortbread and so on.

• biscuit - small round bread leavened with baking-powder or soda

• biscuit - cookie: any of various small flat sweet cakes (`biscuit' is the British term)

Cookie

• any of various small flat sweet cakes (`biscuit' is the British term)

In the United States and Canada, a cookie is a small, flat-baked treat, usually containing fat, flour, eggs and sugar. ...

Hope that helps.
