Ed, you didn't mention if this is a hammer game, or what happens if we don't reach a majority. Do we need to have a vote in place?

 

For now, I'm going back to my old habit (before we started killing off non-voters) of being more conservative with my voting. I'm starting to agree with Alanna that it doesn't help encourage participation, and it makes us vote crazy.

gosh it feels like ages since i've been in a mafia game.  oh but its only been a few weeks  ::)

lily - its kinda a double edge sword isn't it.  makes you pay more attention to the voting deadline, but i think in the long run the rule might harm innocent people more.  especially if a game is in the later phases but theres no real progress in figuring out whose scum and whose not.

Yeah. It was a good idea in theory, but it doesn't encourage lynching. It only encourages voting. It's why people come in at the last minute and throw out random votes, even late in a game, because they are merely voting so they won't be the one who is modkilled. When everyone is at risk for modkilling, regardless of having voted or not, it encourages everyone to atually participate and work toegther to achieve a controlled lynch on their own terms.

 

And, like Red said, the mafia are always sure to vote, so it's almost always a townie that gets killed.
