AcE - Member Share Posted August 10, 2006 Read the post title and thought "oh no, not another Eragon bashing" - turns out its not  Well, i've read both books (several times), there sitting on my book shelf right next to WoT, so i guess that means i like them Actually, i'm quite looking foward to the film(s) (and the third book)
Angel of Death - Member Author Share Posted September 20, 2006 I WAS looking forward to the film, but now ive seen the trailer and read the first book, i think the movie is gonna be crap.
Kadere - Member Share Posted September 20, 2006 yeah, I haven't read the books, but I did just go and view the trailer, and it looks.... mediocre.

Hannibal King - Member Share Posted September 20, 2006 I liked Eragon, although Eldest was a bit too slow. Think the movie's gonna be cool though!
Alys Kinch - Member Share Posted September 20, 2006 i can't find anywhere with the trailer. anyone want to link it? all i found are production photos. and it looks like jeremy irons gets to be brom. that can't be too bad, can it?

Alys Kinch - Member Share Posted September 20, 2006 it reminded me a bit of the harry potter goblet of fire one. the way they tried to super dramatize it. *shrugs* i am sure i will have to see it good or bad.
Kadere - Member Share Posted September 20, 2006 It looks identical to the crappy Dungeons and Dragons film they made a few years ago with subpar visual effects, corney dialouge, horrendous costumes, and head scratching set design. In my opinion anyway.
Hannibal King - Member Share Posted September 20, 2006 I liked the books, but I agree with Kadere on one thing. For everyone who haven't read the books, Varden are supposed to be armed resistence housed for safety in the kingdom/home of dwarves. And in the trailer they have them dressed like insane jamaicans(no racism intended)! I mean really, who goes to war in long orange, green, leopard, and blue robes?????? Alys Kinch - Member Share Posted September 20, 2006 especially when color is an indication of wealth and they are poooooor...
Arya Ellesméra - Member Share Posted September 20, 2006 Those books are somewhere in my top 5 list, and I'm all kinds of excited about the movie. Especially after seeing the trailer. Of course it won't be EXACTLY like the book... No movie ever is. What matters is if the director's interpretation of it makes a good story. December 15 is a long time! Bah! Hannibal King - Member Share Posted September 20, 2006 Well dyes could explain that. But it just looks so stupid and cheesy.
Daetirion - Member Share Posted September 21, 2006 i still have issues with certain things in the books, but i wont go into it here however that trailer does look good! Minor problems being I cant stand the English Public Schoolboy accent thats running through films at the moment (Narnia, Stormbreaker and now Eragon)and the likelyhood it will dissapoint like so many others however, film = publicity, and that cant be bad for the genre as a whole now where is that Eragon bashing thread?
