I only let my kid play the Wii, because there is a lot of physical interaction with the games. The tamest one she plays is Animal Crossing, and she doesn't really play it, but rather just walk the little person around the forest.

So, games she plays:

Wii Music

Wii Sports

Wii Fit

Wii Resort

That's it! :)

We have a Wii too.  Our kids aren't always successful with the games, but they have fun with most of them.  My three year old has only played World of Goo, Mario Karts (he's never placed better than last), and the Disney Dance Dance Revolution (we sit on the floor behind the pad and tap some of the moves for him with our hands).  Our six year old has played all of those with more success than his brother, Wii Fit, Bust-a-Move Bash (he found it boring), and Mario Galaxy (which he needs some help with).

We also have World of Goo for the PC and they find that easier to play than the Wii.  We have a few other PC games, but they haven't really played them often.  Candyland and Shoots and Ladders have maintained their popularity over time.  Personally, I prefer to play board games on the computer rather than lose little pieces all over the house.  :)

We never really looked at the xbox, in part because we liked the Wii Fit we tried at my parents' house and in part because we knew so many people whose systems had bricked on them.  I know one guy who's gone through five of them.  I also know someone who worked for Microsoft on xbox and, while he liked to play, he also recognized its flaws with cutting corners in development and buggy online play.  (In case anyone's curious, he quit Microsoft rather than being fired or laid off.  He's a pilot now, training funded by Microsoft income.)

Wii is most definately the best console for kids, but I still say if you want a console for both you, and yoru kid, the PS3 is the way to go. ;)

I say this, cause Sony has always been known for producing games from E to M. Of every Genre.

And hey if you got ps1 games you can still play those on them, and don't tell me you don't remember Crash Bandicoot or Spiro the Dragon? ;)

Many RPGs for PS1 to, a few out for PS3 (more coming soon), virtually every 'kid' game for the ps3 is multi-console, so all the lego games are there.

CAn download alot of games on the PSN that are kid friendly. And unlike the 360 the PS3 is proven to have more hits than misses. ;)

Course, the only game that ps3 has thats anything like mario-cart is ModNation Racers. (you can create your own tracks)

So yea, wii is definatley the way to go for small kids, and its definately the system thats 'funner' when you have 2 people playing in the same room on the game.

Course the wii & the ps3 both have motion controls, the wii's is just better at being a 'mouse' than the ps3s motion controller. :P
