How did Taim find Rand at Dumai's Wells?

My person theory is that he is Demandred's proxy and this helped him to know where too look.  So what is the evidence?

1. In the forsaken meeting in WH one of the forsaken states that it is Osan'gar's job to watch Rand, his and Demandreds.  This means one of two things, either Demandred is among Rand's personal entarage or he is somehow involved with the Black Tower.

2.  At the end of KoD Taim repeats the phrase that the DO relays to Demandred in the LoC prologue, "Let the Lord of Chaos Rule."  This seems to imply a connection between Taim and Demandred.

3. Demandred has been involved in a Kabal with Mesaana for some time.  Considering that Rand's kidnapping was Messana's plan it stands to reason the Demandred would have known of this plan and therefore could have told Taim what had happened to Rand and pointed him in the right direction.  So why would Demandred want to free Rand?  Well, in the TGS prologue (if you haven't read it stop here) Demandred states that he want to be the one who ultimately kills LTT/Rand, and therefore he would not want Rand to be in Mesaana's control because that would put Rand's continued survival at her whim.  So essentially Demandred does not want any harm to come to Rand until he is able to inflict it personally.

Jordan has answered this. He said that Taim went to Cairhien to talk to Rand (which Taim does reference), saw that Rand wasn't there, Perrin wasn't there, the Tower Aes Sedai weren't there, and a large group of Aiel weren't there and put it together. He then Traveled along the most likely path to Tar Valon, and when he found Rand he went back to the Black Tower, got the Asha'man and returned.

13depository backs it up::

On the Asha'man finding Rand in Lord of Chaos, he said that they knew where Rand was. How they did know he began with the following words: "Mazrim Taim is a paranoid S.O.B." finding out of the disappearance of Rand, and a large bunch of Aiel from Cairhien, he followed the route from Cairhien towards Tar Valon by Travelling, until he encountered Elaida's Aes Sedai. From there, he brought in the Asha'man.
