I was discussing this with a friend the other day and thought I'd put it to the forum. What scenes from the books would you like to see illustrated, either as fan art or perhaps professionally done when Tor starts releasing the new covers?

but seriously...so many...ill start with mat meeting the aeil on the roof tops of tear.

 

and any random everyday scene of city and village life.....thats what really makes the series for me....the ordinary scenes.

-Kinslayer and Ishy dialogue

-Battle of Manetheren (the story Moraine tells the Emond fielders)

-Shagar Logoth (the boys meeting Mordeth)

-Battle at the eye/the gap/Shayol ghul

-Battle in the sky (Rand vs Ishy)

-The first battle where Perrin fights as Wolf (where Rand puts fire to some trees..)

-The battle for the stone of tear

-Rand and Mat in Rhuidean

I attempted drawing it one time, just because of how epic a scene that is, but I didn't like the drawing at all.

Maybe not the most epic scene but the classic "...The wind rose..."

 

Its special, whenever I read the first paragraph of the first chapter its always chills, I would like to see it pictured. What would be really amazing if there was a recording of Jordan reading the first paragraph or five of EotW, and it being attached to the first scene of rand when the wind blows his cloak.

 

That would bring back sooooo many memories whenever you looked at that.

Why is it that so many scenes of similar quality in ASOIAF have been illustrated, along with some pretty amazing art work of characters, but we're reduced to asking what scenes we'd like to see, and the bulk of WOT art I've found has been crappy in the extreme?

I wonder if has something to do with copywrites. Is there possibly some issue about using this material in a rendering for profit or something.

 

You would think artisits that have read the dragonlance series like Larry Elmore, Kieth Parkinson, and Jeff Easly could come up with some good stuff for WOT.

In all seriousness, I would like it to become a TV series with films or something as well, or maybe a movie in the beginning showing that book that came before (sorry, I have forgotten much) and start the series with book one. If anyone has seen the Stargate movie and then the series you'll understand what I'm talking about.
