Another new face

Hey all!  My name is Chris and I finally created an account today after lurking for the last few weeks.  I first discovered the Wheel of Time back in 1993 when I was a junior in High School.  From then on I eagerly devoured every book as it was released.  I haven't liked all of them, but the series as a whole represents the best fantasy epic I've ever read.

 

This series is one of the primary reason I decided to become a writer.  I'll never get a chance to meet Robert Jordan, but if I could I'd thank him for what he created.  My goal is to write a similar epic, though I do realize how arrogant that sounds.

 

I've actually just completed my first novel.  That more than anything has given me a better appreciation for what RJ has accomplished with the WoT.  So, thanks RJ!  And thanks to Jason for keeping this place alive for us to gather in.

 

I also do quite a bit of pen and paper roleplay, and am curious about the RP that happens on these boards.  That sort of freeform roleplay has always been fun for me, though I've never done it in the Wheel of Time universe.  Anyone have any tips to get involved for a newbie?

I'm a fellow newbie :D I've been here about a week or so.  The advice I was given: go slow...don't join all the "cool" orgs all at once, browse through them and find the ones that appeal to you most and then jump on in. 

 

Hope that advice helps you as much as it helped me :D ....oh....and my PM box is always open if you ever wanna just chat :D

Take a look through and decide what type of character you'd like to write about, and you can find information on each division in this thread:
