"Certainly, Rasheta Sedai.  I'm sure the city has much more flavorful dishes than the Tower Guard mess hall.  Do you have a place in mind?  Or shall we choose one randomly along the way?"

Rasheta smiled and answered "I think we will chose along the way. Whatever sounds good at the time." She continued walking with him but now it seemed he had relaxed some around her. Maybe it was the news that she was already bonded to Dante. She almost laughed if that was the case he wasn't in the clear yet. She could bond more then one warder and she was thinking of asking him. Dante was already planning to leave the Green Halls when she did, if she did. She frowned Dante she would have to deal with and soon to see why he seemed so jealous of Visar all the time. She glanced at her companion and then away Visar was very handsome but that couldn't be the reason Dante was jealous of him was it.

She shook her head and then saw a tavern smiling she pulled Visar in that direction. She didn't know the Tavern well, it had been some time since she had been in the city. However, everyone knew an Aes Sedai when they saw one and so she was shown to a table close to the fire and she was treated with a great deal of respect. She was amused when the serving girl asked what the Aes Sedai's Gaidin would like. Rasheta kicked Visar under the table when he would have corrected the girl. Rasheta shook her head trying to relay the message not to say anything. Things would go smoother if the tavern simply assumed that Visar was her warder and not just a companion for the night. After they were given there dinner Rasheta asked.

"I'm sorry I kicked you. Are you in any pain I can take that away for you if you like. I just thought it would be easier if you were taken for my warder then anything else. No one would question an Aes Sedai, but it would be less uncomfortable for you I think." She stretched out her hand around the table. "I can remove the pain for you if you like, the choice is up to you though. I won't force you." She waited patiently.

They walked the streets, and Rasheta Sedai pulled them to one of the first taverns they saw.  Not a bad place...but why here? Visar wondered.  It didn't matter really.  They sat down and were quickly served by a girl who mistook him for a warder.  Visar was about to speak up  but before he said anything he was dealt a kick in the shins.  Trying not to jolt too much from surprise, he noticed that Rasheta Sedai did not want him to say anything.  Slighty confused, he did just that.  They sat in silence until they were handed their food.

As Rasheta explained why she had kicked him, Visar could have laughed out loud.  Why did it matter whether people viewed him as a warder or not?  Surely they would not be rude enough to question an Aes Sedai's male acquaintance?  She offered her assistance.  Visar took her hand, but shook his head.

"No thank you, I'm quite alright.  You'll have to kick me much harder for me to ask for your services." he added with a wry grin.  If she wanted people to think he was her warder, let them, he thought.  He was unsure of her designs, however.  Why would she be interested in him?  She already had a warder, certainly possessing of equal if not better skills than himself.  He would not want to encroach on his friend Dante in any way, either.  If they were both to be bonded to Rasheta Sedai, Visar was not sure if that would even work.  She was of the Green Ajah, and they did bond more than one person sometimes, but Visar could still not figure out why.  Or even if that was Rasheta Sedais intention or not.

"Lets eat." he said simply, as he tried to sort his thoughts and figure out what Rasheta Sedai wanted from him with this particular visit.  Surely it was something more than just wanting to share a meal with a friend?  Aes Sedai were not usually so simple or casual, at least as far as Visar knew.

"Is your food any good?" Visar asked, trying to keep some semblance of a polite conversation.  His meal was alright so far, though he wished the ale was a little stronger.

Visar took her hand and Rasheta stopped herself from enjoying the feel of someone holding her hand. She remained as stoic as she could and hoped that her wish to help was all that showed on her face. He let go and told her to eat. She ate and winced the food was hotter then she had expected.

"Is your food any good?"

She took a drink of the ale and made a disgusted face. "The Ale could be stronger." She said putting the tankard down. She ate slowly watching the young man across from her and then shrugged. "The food is alright. I think the cooks in the Tower spoil us there food is generally very good." She studied Visar for a moment. "So" she said with a smile. "have you decided what to do after you have learned all you can from the Gaidin here? Do you have family you can return to?"

He was tempted to laugh at the fact that Rasheta Sedai seemed to have the same opinion of the ale as he did, but the best he could manage was a slight smile.  Visar shook his head sadly at Rasheta's question.

"Family?  No."

He had left his family when he chose to leave Tear.  They wouldn't want him back, he was sure.  And any attempt to restore contact with them would most likely arouse the suspicion of Tairen authorities.  He didn't want to talk about that, though, and left it at that.  She would have to push him hard to get any more information about the family he abandoned when he killed the man.  He went back to the question to answer the other part of it.

"Well, now that you mention it I do find myself in a bit of a rut here.  I think I'll find another place to train, gain some experience elsewhere I think.  Then I will probably come back here, since there's no shame in simply serving in the guard here.  I might even be able to make a career out of it, become an officer, though that will take time.  I heard that there are sometimes positions available for Tower Guardsmen looking for action in the Borderlands.  Perhaps I'll find a way to go there.  I wouldn't want to go alone, though."

"What about you, Rasheta Sedai?" Visar added.  "What are your plans for the near future, if I may be so bold as to ask?"

Rasheta dropped her fork when he mentioned the borderlands and had to force herself to stop herself from saying "Don't go there." She did shiver and tried to cover that but he probably saw her. She did wish him well in whatever he chose to do but the borderlands? She knew that someday she would have to face her fear of that place but at the moment she could only fear for others when they went to those cursed lands. She was glad to hear he didn't want to go alone. Being by yourself along the Blight was never a good idea. She did wonder if he'd been to the borderlands or the Blight before. If not she hoped whoever he went with had, at least then he would know many of the customs and it would be a little easier for him to fit in. She was still musing on this when he asked her something.

"What about you, Rasheta Sedai?" Visar added.  "What are your plans for the near future, if I may be so bold as to ask?"

Rasheta jerked backwards as though struck and shook her head. "I'm sorry mention of the Borderlands turns me into a frightful mess. I almost missed what you asked me." She paused and got herself under control.

"Plans for the near future? Hmm" She shrugged. "I think the nearest thing in my future is sending Dante to reacquaint himself with you." She laughed even to her ears it sounded a little forced but she tried. She continued

"I believe after that I will bond again and then travel. I need to do that again and its been such a long time since I have the world will have changed much I'm sure. Maybe I will see you again before you go off to the borderlands." She turned serious reached over and grabbed him by the hand. "Be careful there. The Blight is not somewhere you want to get lost."  She shook herself and dropped his hand. "I'm sorry the Blight gets me worried about people. I have had bad experiences there." She asked "Do you know anything about the borderlands?"

She seemed to react strongly to his mention of the Borderlands.  Visar wondered why.  He felt like he should know, but he could not remember.  Either way, it seemed that Rasheta Sedai had bad memories there.

She composed herself admirably though, and mentioned Dante.  Visar smiled, but did not laugh with her.  He would like to see Dante soon, but would understand if his friend was busy.

"I believe after that I will bond again and then travel. I need to do that again and its been such a long time since I have the world will have changed much I'm sure. Maybe I will see you again before you go off to the borderlands."

"I hope so, Rasheta Sedai." he replied.  She suddenly grabbed his hand, and Visar could feel the tension from her.

"Be careful there. The Blight is not somewhere you want to get lost."  She relaxed, and seemed unbearably sad.  Visar wished he knew what it was.  Wished he could help her.

To her question, he answered, "I know a little about the place, mostly from Sandre and Dante.  Enough to know that I have no intention of going into the Blight if I can help it.  It's the training in the Borderlands, not the Blight I would seek.  Besides, I doubt they would let me fight with them near the border.  I'm a southerner; they would consider me unfit to fight things that I've never seen before, or knew existed."

He took her hand this time, trying to encourage her not to worry.  "I'll be alright, don't worry.  I'll probably go with Sandre, and if I do, I'm sure I'll be in good hands.  I would like to...No I will not ask about that."

He was going to ask what had happened to her concerning the Blight, but he could tell it was still a painful subject, and dropped it.  No doubt he had aroused her curiosity of what he was going to ask her, however.

Rasheta shook her head and said ruefully "You want to know about my experience in the borderlands." She waited as the serving girl came and refilled there mugs of ale. The girl made it a point to not look at Visar as she poured. Rasheta had to smile, the girl really thought even so much as encouraging an Aes Sedais warder would get her in trouble. With most Aes Sedai it probably wouldn't a Green was usually more protective of her warders. Although Rasheta wasn't bonded to Visar, yet so if the girl had chosen to encourage a night of attention she wouldn't have stopped either. Her thoughts continued to meander down that line of thinking till she pulled herself back to the present. She leaned back a bit in her chair and tossed her head sending her hair over her shoulders, it was a nervous gesture she always did. She crossed her arms and said.

"I suppose there is no reason not to tell you about it. You would probably ask Dante and he would tell you anyway." She took a deep breath and said.

"I bonded my warder after I was raised to the shawl and several years after we bonded he took me to the blight. It wasn't my first battle but the blight holds its own terrors. Things were uneventful really for most of the time we were there, but in the end we were in trouble and my warder sent me on ahead and would not let me help him. He told me that he always knew that I would outlive him." She shook her head. "that is the short story of my experience in the blight. I think I would have thrown myself from the wall around one of the cities in the Borderlands if another of my sister Greens hadn't prevented me." She sighed and tossed her hair again,

"Just make sure you are safe when you go, the borderlands are always at war with the blight, and the things that come out of it." She took another deep breath and tried to get her emotion under control if she didn't Dante would probably appear asking what was wrong with her. She didn't really want to ruin her good time with Visar but she was sure it was going to come to a close sooner or later. So she said. "My tale of woe probably isn't what you expected to hear from any Aes Sedai. I hope you will forgive me for ending dinner on a somber note." She tilted her head to the side studying him, it was another habit she had. "You know I have thought to ask you to bond me later. Could you consider it?"

Visar listened to her tragic tale.  So it was her former warder which made her worried about the borderlands and the Blight in particular.  He couldn't blame her, though he was for a short time unsure why she was upset that he was going.  After she seemed to apologize for the subject, Visar blinked at what she said next.  She wanted to bond him?  Why?'

His eyes narrowed briefly, wondering, but he forced his face to look less suspicious.

"I...I didn't know..."  Visar winced.  Stuttering in front of her would not help at all.  Polite! You have to stay polite!

"Of course I will consider it, Aes Sedai.  I'm honored to be considered worthy of your attention." he said, much more formally.  It truly was an honor to be considered to be bonded a warder.  Especially so early in his training, when there were more experienced and capable warriors out there.  His formal, stiff tone didn't seem to make her completely satisfied, however.  As they rose to pay for their meal, Visar frowned.

"Is..Is something wrong, Rasheta Sedai?" he ventured to ask.

Rasheta hid her face and tried not to laugh as Visar appeared to be trying to find a way to say no and not anger her. He finally settled on telling her he didn't know. She got her face under control and looked back up at him across the table. She rose when he did and she paid the serving girl. He asked her if there was something wrong? She shook her head and glanced over his shoulder and thought she saw Dante wandering around and shook her head and almost did an eye roll the man was truly a warder she'd tell him that later but for now she was going to ignore him and return to the tower. She turned her attention to Visar, "no nothing is wrong. Remember what I said about the borderlands, and the Blight. Be careful and try not to die." She smiled at him and nodded to the door.

"I think I have an escort back to the tower." She tried not to roll her eyes up in her head about this. "So you are welcome to do whatever you like. Enjoy the city as best you can before you leave." She turned around and walked toward the door and she stopped "By the way, tomorrow or the next day I shall send Dante back to you." She laughed "It should be fun to see what the two of you get up to." Then she walked through the door and back toward the White Tower.
