Laying in bed, Devrion took out a candle and lit it. She planned on relaxing by reading Rory’s book, the one Saline had given her. The light from the candle was not spectacular, yet it was just enough to allow reading. What could be endured, must until the proper time to change the circumstances Devrion thought to herself, that was one of her favorite quotes from her family she found in the streets. It gave an outlook, of a time will come for betterment, it added an anticipation to life that made it a little bit sweeter.

As the hours began to wane Devrion got lost in the pages of Rory’s book and found herself beginning to doze off to sleep. Then the door to her room began to slowly open and light spilled in and began to combat the darkness of the tiny room. A girl in a white dress strode into the room, with a queenly grace. Who does this self important snot think she is Devrion wondered. The novice entered and sat her things on the floor next to the other bed in the room. She introduced her self as Aeryn, and Devrion could care less in fact she told aeryn just that. “So Aeryn, to tell the truth it does not matter who you are, I am Devrion, and I am tired, so you will leave me be.” Devrion put the influence on the “I”s in her statement. The new novice Aeryn was clearly in shock. Devrion turned on her side and forgot about her as she turned on her side away from her. Yet Aeryn spoke up and denied Devrion sleep.

Aeryn walked into the room she was appointed to by the Mistress of Novices, feeling annoyed but not irritated at carrying her own things. She knew how to do such things on her own, it was just a little discomfortable when she hadn't counted on having to do it herself. Setting the bag down next to 'her' bed -- judging by the fact there was someone lying on the other, she assumed it was taken -- and proceeded to introduce herself. Though formal protocol required the other girl to introduce herself first due to her noble standing, she decided to approach the matter as a Novice rather than a noble.

And was prompty turned down in the most horrid way.

Her eyebrow rose at the girl's response, her face a mask of composed coolness not shared by the fiery glare aimed at Devrion's back. She could not see her face, and quite honestly didn't feel like looking at it if the Novice would be acting this way. Remembering her encounter with Jagen Sedai, she decided to take the same approach here in getting an apology.

- "So, what barn did your mother raise you in? If you even had a mother. You act as if you were raised by pigs!"

The corner of her lip twitched in silent humor at the irony of the situation, but she had her face smooth again before Devrion would have been able to see it. With the tables turned, it would be almost interesting to see if the pale skinned woman would react the same was she had during that brief encounter... if she hadn't been too busy grappling with her anger to pay attention to such details.

"So, what barn did your mother raise you in? If you even had a mother. You act as if you were raised by pigs!"

That did it. Throwing the sheets off her Devrion stood up. "I grew up in the halls of house Olgeer. My parentage is of no concern to you. I need no one but myself."

Without thinking Devrion walked up to Aeryn icily and did the something completely unexpected. She raised her left hand and slapped Aeryn with the back of it. While Aeryn was stunned Devrion balled her hand into a fist and punched this silly little girl in the eye.

On over reaction would have been an understatement yet her family was a soft spot. They were critical to her turning to the great lord, yet still her mother did give birth to her. Just wait till Saline hears about this. Devrion thought.

Looking at Aeryn, standing dumbfounded, Devrion felt satisfaction run through her being. This vile young woman would get exactly what she deserved. Devrion turned on an icy smile and moved to go back to bed. I wonder how self possessed this nuisance would be. Devrion did not want to be bothered with this Aeryn, and she wanted to get back to her book

OOC: Umm... The amount of character control makes it a bit hard for me to figure out what to reply, as you've pretty much dictated how Aeryn replied to your actions already. ^^;

OOC: Ill edit it. Sorry Jehaine

OOC: No probs, though the autohits count as well. Might want to get into the habit of just describing making your attack, and leaving it up to the other player to decide whether it hits him/her or not. For example, if you post trying to slap, and then swinging your fist but not mentioning where, if at all, it hits her you'd essentially be posting the same thing for your character while leaving it completely open to the other player what'll happen next :)

IC:

Aeryn noticed the slap coming in a little late, and as such found herself unable to avoid it. As she turned her head to glare at Devrion, she noticed an incoming punch. Though it hit her, she was moving her head back to avoid it and it didn't land in full force. It still managed to unbalance her though, and make her fall on the bed behind her. She got up in time to see the satisfaction on the other Novice's face, and the volcano that was her temper erupted in force.

She launched herself at Devrion, intending to tackle the insolent girl to the ground. She had stared down Whitecloaks, refused to stand aside even as weapons had been drawn, and she was surely not letting herself be intimidated by this girl that was not above her nor as a noble, nor as a Novice, nor as a person. Regardless of whether or not the tackle was successful, she would start repaying Devrion for the reddish mark on her cheek and left eyebrow, anger adding a ferocity to her attacks that more than made up for her light build.
