These seem most probable:

-Slayer knowing the way to enter.

-Slayer correctly guessing the way.

There being a connection between him and the Aelfinn/Eelfinn seems unlikely.

He could have jumped on top the 100ft tower, did a TAR teleport, or step out of the dream.

 

Bridgette and Hopper wouldn't have known, they were watching Perrin, not slayer.

From reading the passage, neither Hopper nor Birgitte told Perrin that Slayer was inside; Perrin followed the tracks and when he got to the end, he assumed Slayer when inside.
