CoS mistake? -spoilers-

I've tried searching this site (Hi I'm new!) and Googling and checked the WoT encyclopedia for this answer.

 

In the 8th chapter (of a Crown of Swords), Egwene slips on the adam bracelet and it goes on to say how Marigan is in the camp, is tired/in pain, etc.

 

But in the Lord of Chaos, Moghedian escaped. 

 

I don't know if it's because my copies of these books are old and they've been edited since..?  Or if later in the chapter/story it's explained..?  If the latter is true, I will be rightfully embarrassed for not continuing on, but there's no way Moghedian would put the bracelet back on after escaping.

 

I've read these books once before, years ago, so I can't remember if my other copies said this.  If this is a common knowledge mistake, forgive me (as I said, I'm new!)

I've just had a look in the Encyclopaedia and guess what I found:  ;)

 

ACoS: Chapter 8

...Most people think Marigan is her [Egwene's] maid as well. Thinking of Marigan, Egwene puts on the a'dam bracelet and feels that Moghedien is asleep. Only she, Siuan and Leane know about the a'dam and who she really is.

 

And later in the same chapter:

 

...Suddenly, she feels a sharp stab of pain, then nothing, and knows that a man who can channel has removed Moghedien's necklace! She makes an excuse to leave and goes to Marigan's tent finding it empty. Chesa enters, evidently having waited and followed her.6 Egwene tells her Marigan ran away...

 

So, Moggy has been freed by Halima/Aran'gar in this very chaper, in aCoS.

Yes, it was in the Epilogue though (the whole going back in the time frame freaked me out lol).  I was confused, and I should read the whole chapter next time before I post and ask questions.

The timelines of the later books do overlap. Crossroads of Twilight is the most notable example of this.

A number of Crown of Swords chapters come before the epilogue of Lord of Chaos.  Chapter 8 is one of them.

The epilogues of this series I think cover a number of the next book's events and add a number of other events that come between.
