Mafia game [Attn all who signed up] - DETAILED RULES

I'm going to write down the rules soon enough and post it after the sign up is closed, but generally speaking it falls under the category of every standard mafia game. I will not go into complex roles. I like keeping things simple. I will of course mod the game. Hopefully, you'll enjoy my very morbid and peculiar scenerios ;D

 

The Assasins are going to be titled Aes Sedai. The detective will be titled Questioner... hehe... i'll reveal the rest of the roles in the rules. But I thought i'd give you an idea of what will come to pass... *wink*

 

So, sign up! The game will most likely start in a week or so, pending on how many people sign up, naturally. I need at least 8 players or so.

Some of you might know this game from Real Life. It's called the Mafia. This game is also played on the fiddlestick board in DM. It was called the werewolf game.

 

If there are some people out there that still have no idea what i'm talking about, I am going to explain the rules.

 

I am the Light Mistress aka the game master. I've collected sign ups and now I'll rapart the roles randomly. I will PM every person his/her role and they have to keep it to themselves. If anyone shares his/her role with another person in the game, the game is simply ruined so I urge you not to do that. NO TALKING of the game outsite the game thread (There's an exception for the Aes Sedai and Warder. They can talk between themselves out of the game thread). Discretion is the key. 

 

The roles are as followed:

1. Holy Man/Woman - You are an innocent civillian, just minding your own business.

2. Aes Sedai - You are a heartless witch that murders innocent babies!  >.>

3. CotL - You get to protect one person every night from a night kill. You can protect yourself during the night ONLY once. Once you've used that up you will only be able to protect others. So, use that one time wisely  *wink*

4. Questioner - You get to find out the role of one person every night. 

5. Spymaster - You get to freeze the actions of one person every night.

6. Warder - You get to spy around for the Aes Sedai and keep her safe. You do not get to decide with the Aes Sedai who to murder, but simply keep the suspicion off of her, even if your life is forfeit for it ;)

 

 

The days and nights in this game do not go hand by hand with day and night in real life. I annouce when it's day and when it's night. A day in the game can last three real life days...and so on and on.

 

We will start the game when it's day. Everybody needs to start discussing and nominating someone who they think is an Aes Sedai and should be lynched. People vote and majority rules (although the majority needs to be a certain number I set, you will see in the game in case you don't get it now). When you vote for someone, you bold the name of the person. For instance, I vote for Bob

Also if you voted for someone....and then you want to change your vote (as long as the vote is still open, you can't change your vote after I post your verdict) then you put it in this manner: I change my vote to George.

 

After someone is lynched I tell you what his/her role in the game was. If he/she was either a holy man/woman, a questioner or exc... not good. If he/she were an Aes Sedai or a Warder, then you're on the right track. I will not tell you how many of each role there are. The roles stated above are the ones that would be in the game... but that's all the info you're going to get. How many of every role are there? That is for me to know... and for you to find out :D

 

Okay, someone was lynched, then I announce that it's night now. In the night only the following happens:

- If there's more than one Aes Sedai, they talk between themselves and decide on someone they want to murder during the night. When they pick someone they PM me and let me know. The warder can chip in an opinion but I want a one PM with the name of who's going to be murdered.

-The CotL PMs me a name of a person he/she wants to protect during the night. If the name the CotL and the Aes Sedai give me is the same, then the Aes Sedai won't murder anyone during the night. Whoever is under the protection of the CotL cannot be murdered during the night. The CotL, however, can't protect from lynching during the day.

-The Questioner PMs me asking about one of the participents role and I answer him/her and tell what role the person has. If the Warder is investigated, he comes off as a holy man/woman. So, don't be too sure you are getting the whole truth ;)

- The Spymaster PMs me, giving me a name of who he/she wants to freeze for the night. The person chosen wouldn't be able to do ANY actions, be it murdering, investigating, protecting or anything :P

 

Now to the ones of you that get to be either the questioner, the spymaster or the CotL... you can reveal what you are at some point throughout the game, if you wish to. However, it can seriously backfire. The others might think you're really Aes Sedai and you're bluffing....or if you seem reliable, you'll probably be the Aes Sedai's next target at night. So....keep that in mind if and when you reveal yourselves. Strategy, people ;)

 

mmm....that's about it.

Just one last thing. The most important thing. ONLY the Aes Sedai and the Warder are allowed to talk between themselves outside of the game thread. The rest can ONLY speak on the game thread. Please stick to that  ^_^

 

if you have questions...something that seems unclear....this is the place to ask.

 

Your roles will be sent to you today. Once I recieve a reply from ALL of you that you've recieved your role assignment, I will start a new thread for the game. So be quick about it! and most importantly, enjoy yourselves! ;D
