Name My Dog!

Recommended Posts

I have just purchased a puppy. He's a black, male labrador and I get to pick him up in a couple of weeks. This morning on my way to work, I stopped off and took a look at him. He looks great!

Anyway, the point of this thread is that I am looking for a great WOT name for this pup. My original idea was to call him Hopper, but when I mentioned that to a friend he thoguht I was talking about Hopper the grasshopper from Disney's "A Bug's Life."

So, any great suggestions will be more than welcomed. Please be aware that I already have fish named Mandarb and Aldeib and I'm thinking of saving Lan for my son. Other than those restrictions - have at him!

Well it really depends what kind of names you wish for the dog. Give a direction and I can help you.

Do You want Aristocratic and high class sounding names:

Henry

Nigel

Aristotle

Socrates

Virgil

Original All-American dog names:

Sam

Max

Al

Dodger

Fantasy sounding names:

Tyrion

Night

Gaul

Ashaman

Or on the offchance you are Jewish and wish a full-fledged Jewish dog:

Uri

Ari

Thanks for the thoughts, but as kindred countrymen we will back one another up and have a laugh together - but there's no way in hell I'm going to name my dog "Oz" or "Uncle Sledgeie."

Sorry, Mate. I just thought it'd be a bit too brokeback Mountain for me to do that.

*shudder*

I thought this would make it easier, but my list is growing.

It's good, though. I collect the pup on April 1st. Should have a pic to post by the end of today.

... Pips sounds nice... but maybe you ought to assess the character of the dog for a day or two before making up your mind. It's nice when the name matches the temperament.

ya, i definitely agree that you should get to know the dog a little bit before making your choice.

my top 3 would have to be: Pips, Asmo, and Loial in no particular order.

good luck making the choice!

Maybe Tam, or Thor as in al Thor.

Thor, the god of thunder!

A good aussie name though: Digger!

All else fails: Uncle Sledgie or Abo!
