Permanence

Has anyone ever read Permanence by Karl Schroeder? This is an awesome book for more reasons than one. For one, this guy is incredibly informed about the cosmos, you can tell he did his research. Two, his idea of humanity's goal in life is greate. Three, it's a relatively simple story line but a complex righting style. I obviously like the book, in fact I almost stayed home from work so I could read it; I was just wondering if anyone else has read it.
