Maria Doyle Kennedy (who plays Ila, the Tinker lady), is the lead in a new South African series. (I'm South African, in case anyone wondered :P)

She plays Tannie Maria (Aunty Maria), a food writer turning agony aunt in a small town.

I just watched the 1st episode of this, and it was quite charming. The sound was a bit bad here and there, to the point where we couldn't understand what people were saying (especially on the local people speaking my own language!), which is a letdown.

 

Apparently the rest of you will be able to see it in September, if anyone's interested.
