With apologies for that awful pun!

After WoT being on the mind with the teaser floating about, and seeing @dicetosser1 being a grumpy old man on Facebook, I suddenly realised how long it's been since I visited the Band! I wanted to check in on y'all, and given how quiet it currently is around here maybe stir up some nonsense (or activity, but same difference).

Since I last tasted the sticky floors of a Band bar, I've graduated uni, had four or five different jobs, moved continents, changed my (real-world) name and gotten engaged! I've also spent way too much time indoors, and spent far too much money on a shiny setup to start a vinyl collection, not to mention miniatures. Oh, and swords! I've been learning how to sword in real life (as well as knives), which is probably my most band-relevant hobby to date.

What about everyone here?? I'd love to hear about all the wonderful things in the lives of the Banders.

@dicetosser1 you are an old man ?

@Starrik I have a vague recollection of your username but it's been years since I was steadily active on here lol!

As for what I've been up to? Teaching high school English. Love it one moment, hate it the next, laugh hysterically the next. Ya know, normal day. I'm also working on publishing my debut fantasy novel (it'll be a trilogy). A prequel short story that's set in the same world as my debut novel is available on Amazon/Kindle Unlimited (link here if you wanna check it out: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09FXZ69MQ). I know @Cairos said he's interested in reading and once the cover is done and formatting is all situated, I'll definitely be asking for more ARC readers ? Right now I'm thinking my official release date will be some time in January!!

Other than teaching, reading, and writing, been hanging out with my 4 year old who is talking up one storm after another ?

Fun old-times thread! Since my last visit I’ve had 2 more kids, bought a house, upgraded to a new house, and now upgrading again by building in rural middle of nowhere. 5 more years with my same employers but in my 4th role (yay for escaping taking phone calls). I grew a large beard (at 8-10” might be at my limit) to go along with my new homesteading life.

I’ve also massively rekindled my LEGO hobby, and I’m in “the last battle” chapter in my current reread. Timing will work out perfectly to beg to be an ARC reader for Jeannaisais.

I also realized I like math and am not as creative as I thought, which was a huge crisis of identity for me!

HORN!!! Nice to see you here! The house progress is looking great and sounds like life is going pretty well ?

I've learned about Legos. What I have learned from my 4 year old son is that I, personally, am terrible at legos and need consistent instruction by said 4 year old of the *proper* way to put all the pieces together.

I have so many books to read but keep considering a reread, especially after getting all of them in hardback.

And you can most definitely be an ARC reader for me - I'm wanting to make sure everything is finalized before sending out ARCs. I'm positive ARC readers will still catch a typo or two but I want to make as clean a read as possible! I've had about 6 beta readers not including family and the story elements are there, just gotta get it out in the world now.... I do have a prequel novella available as an ebook/on Kindle Unlimited. It's not necessary to understand book one but gives a bit of extra background about one of the characters ?

I LOVE seeing familiar faces pop back in here - makes me happy! ?

The key to fixing this is to buy more. It will break your bank account, but sacrifice is necessary!

I am positive more will be purchased for this child - specifically dinosaurs and dragons. He's actually pretty adept at putting the lego sets together on his own so I figure might as well foster the kids love of building by buying more legos. Oh and he wants a dinosaur racetrack that eats the cars and then poops them out. Gotta love the things children say.
