Welcome to your WT/DM class, Skelos!

This class was designed to help you get to know and understand the White Tower and Warders, and what we're all about. We hope that it will also be a bit of fun and entertainment for you!

We've gotten to know each other a bit already, but please feel free to post more about yourself here ?

I'm going to go ahead and post the first part of the class for you, so you can work on it when you're ready:

Feel free to ask questions at any stage!

Part One: The White Tower

1)What are members of the WT/Warders expected to do?
2)What is the Code of Conduct, and how does it apply to you?
3)What in the heck does PG13 mean?
4)What is Thread-Hijacking and Spam, and what is the general policy of the WT/Warders regarding that?

Greetings Mother Elgee and once again thank you to be my mentor during this adventure at The White Tower and Warders.

I’m new here on Dragonmount and I’m also almost new with WoT, considering that I have begun my first book about one years ago. Now I’m in the middle of the stories with a Crown of Swords, so I will keep my eyes open not to fall into too many spoilers around here!

About my class:

1)What are members of the WT/Warders expected to do?

They are expected to be part of a social community who follows the Aes Sedai’s  philosophy to be “servant of all” and part of their hierarchical organization. They are here to interact with other people, talking about their interests, sharing their passions and most of all, for what I think, giving their contribution to keep this place friendly and enjoyable for everybody.

2)What is the Code of Conduct, and how does it apply to you?

It’s a list of rules, that all the members of the Dragonmount comunity has to follow, to avoid inappropriate behaviour. So, as a member of the comuntity, it applies to me in the same way as for everybody else. The violations of the Code, basically, include things like hate speech, inappropriate language, abusive behavior, topic bumping, inappropriate advertising, signature violation.

3)What in the heck does PG13 mean?

Parental guide 13. First thing, you need to be 13 years or older to join the Comunity. Ahem… not a big problem for me.

Second thing: always remember that people watching what we post can be very, very young, so if we want to talk about sexviolencegorenudity or else better to think twice, cause maybe a child is watching ?

4)What is Thread-Hijacking and Spam, and what is the general policy of the WT/Warders regarding that?

Spamming is, posting, posting

Posting

Posting again things pointlessy and with no other purpose then post something.

Thread-Hijacking is when a little group, maybe 2/3 people is using a thread for many posts as a personal conversation, maybe also going off topic and with the consequences to cut off anybody else from this discussion.

These are my answers. No question for the moment and of course, ready for clarifications, if requested!

Hahahaha that made me laugh so hard! Excellent explanation with example - well done! ?

In fact, well done on all the answers - well thought out and explained. Thank you!

I'll post the next part of your class now.

Part Two: The Subgroups

Part two will lead you to explore at least 5 of our subgroups (and by subgroups I mean either Ajahs or Warders Disciplines). To track your journey, please post this template at least 5 times in your next post. You can edit that post, each time you'll have information to add.

Template :

[Ajah/Guild]
--[Who is in charge]
--[general focus if there is one]
--[link to a relevant post you wrote in that sub-board #1]
--[link to a relevant post you wrote in that sub-board #2]

We have 10 groups to explore in total (7 ajah and 3 discs),  so don't hesitate to go further than what is asked in this lesson. This will only help you improve your knowledge about the Tower and the Warders Yard. And you might get some nice cookies or something on the way! ?

This part is going to be by far the most "work heavy" section. It is also the most important. When you visit an Ajah or the Warders try to get the feel of each place, to participate in the conversations you find there, to take part in the events people are organizing. Saying hello is only a start - we expecting a bit more than that ?

This will also be the opportunity for you to check which subgroups are the best fit for you. We want our initiates to take time and to consider all their options before to commit to anything! As you will notice our White Tower & Warders is not exactly the same as the one in the books. We've had to adapt it to a different Age, after all!

Again, there is absolutely no rush in doing this! The people who get the most enjoyment out of the White Tower and Warders, are the ones who realise that it's mostly about the journey, not the destination. Stop and smell the roses! But don't smell Bob - he stinks ??

Time to do something here!

[Blue Ajah]
--[Who is in charge: Hayl3y is First Selector]
--[Focus: Fandom. Blue Ajah is the place to discuss about books, stories, games, movies and visitors are also encouraged to share their personal fandom. Following WoT Blue Ajah ideas, this group is also interested in arguments about our modern society. ]
