Festival of light and dark: round 1b fight 4 - Demandred vs Raistlin Majere

The 2 opponents stood across from each other. Raistlin stood on one side with his hood up, obstructing his face. Demandred stood on the opposite him with a smug look on his face.

            A bell was rung and Raistlin began mumbling a spell, then a fireball shot forth toward Demandred, who deflected it. A lightning bolt came down and would've struck if Demandred hadn't also blocked that. He realised that Raistlin needed to speak to work his spells, so he made a gag of air and after a slight struggle got it over his mouth, then Demanded shot a bar of Balefire and Raistlin disappeared in a flash of white.

 

Expected winner: Demandred

I have not read about Raistlin and I don’t like Demandred. He is powerful but can’t think about much more than killing Lews Therin. What do you say? It looks like a clear victory for Demandred in the write up.

Well Raistlin has to speak to spellcast

That is really an disadvantage.

Demandred is such a loser but unless he was snuck up on and didn't realize the spell caster had to speak...

 

but he could have been snuck up on? And destroyed?

 

or is the battle more of a planned thing so no sneaking?

Demandred it is then. Seems like a silly system where you have to speak the words but there ya go.
