Elayne’s Long Con

There can be all sorts of reasons why one would not want to be so bound.

What have you read to give you any indication that Elayne's reason is being a secret DF, and why do you find those indications more suggestive than all the indications she is not?

You do raise an interesting question though. The world still contains a lot of DFs, with surely more than a few of them in positions of power and influence. Quite possibly even a few Black Ajah who escaped the purge and survived(or were not present for) the Last Battle.

What shall become of them now? Both the petty schemers among them and the true believers?

And regarding those true believers, might a few of them seek a way to reopen the Bore, or unleash some other sort of evil on the world?

Best we know of the future is they won't accomplish anything major and obvious in the time it would have taken Seanchan to genocide the Aiel, unless sidestepping that fate has loosed some very unfortunate butterflies upon the world, but that seems unlikely.

her pregnancy (and/or her unborn children) seems to be a Light-sided reason.

a Darkfriend probably would not care about her offspring.

and as far as I recall, there has not been any pregnancy where either parent was a Darkfriend.

Df's and BA are now no more then simple evil folks.  With the DO properly sealed there is no chance of breaking him out.  They can't sense his prison so no way to drill into it again, until the age comes where it has weakened enough again for them to sense it.  You saw Moghi planning to go to Shara and carve out a kingdom for herself.  Basicly they are free to do whatever they want.

They didn't know what the TP was.  They sensed a power that both men and women could use without the limitiations of the male and female halves.  They had no idea it was the DO prison and that it was the TP they discovered.  Could be it had weakened enough to where he could allow access without them knowing it was the DO doing it.

The bore wasn’t drilled into a weak prison, but drilled into the pattern aka “perfect” prison. The perfect prison doesn’t age. Only the patched bore ages because its seals are only interwoven with Cuellidar and can be corrupted and damaged by evil.

I can think of two reasons.  First her babies, no telling what effect her swearing on an oath rid would have on them.  But secondly being a queen and trying to secure her rule I'm sure being able to "bend the truth" was going to be needed.  Elayne is going to be a queen and not an Aes Sedai in the white tower so should she have to swear?
