Welcome, traveler!

Jain Farstrider, well known throughout the Westlands because of the book "The Travels of Jain Farstrider", is a great inspiration for The Band of the Red Hand. The Members of the Band come from all over the known world, and would gladly share their experiences with you.

In this thread, we would like to talk about travels. It can be about places you have visited or you would like to visit. Perhaps other travelers have already been there and would like to share their experiences with you.

You have a free choice on how you would like to tell us about your trip. Just a small post in the thread? Awesome. A complete review? Great! The most important thing is getting the stories out there.

Looking forward to your stories!

Guess I'll go first...  My travels took me far past the edge of the world.  Thanks to the help of some of Rand's Black Tower members, I was able to secure passage via gateway to a land far far away... A land called Galaxy's Edge in the wondrous land called "Disney"!

I began my trip with a visit to my cousin's new home.  I won't bore you with the details of this but he does live across the street from a Barnes and Noble book store which I found very cool.

We arrived Thursday evening and, once we checked into our camp (hotel) we walked the familiar two blocks to Downtown Disney and had drinks and a light dinner snack at Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar where I partook in the local drinks.  But first, I had to try the Shipwreck Nachos which consisted of "Kālua-style Pulled Pork, fresh Pineapple Salsa, Hoisin Sauce, Togarashi Aïoli and Barbecue Sauce".  They were delicious!

For my first drink I tried the Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Rum, consisting of "Pyrat XO Reserve Rum, Cream of Coconut, and Juices of Pineapple and Orange dusted with Cinnamon and Nutmeg". This was served in a souvenere tiki glass.

After that, I ordered a Piranha Pool, consisting of "Stoli Strasberi Vodka blended with Pineapple Juice, Cream of Coconut, Strawberry Purée, and Blue Curaçao" This was served in a souvenere, piranha shaped, tiki glass.

Finally, my cousin and I shared the Sea Monster's Embrace, consisting of "The Real McCoy and Plantation Dark Rum, New Amsterdam Gin, Christian Brothers Brandy, Passion Fruit, Falernum, and Juices of Lime, Orange and Pineapple". This was served in a souvenir drink bowl with a Krackin in it.

The next morning, we were up early to enter the Land of Disney.  My cousin and I went straight to Galaxy's Edge where I had reserved an early meeting with their blade-smiths, crafting myself a rare and exquisite energy (Guessing somehow powered by Saidin and/or Saidar) weapon they call a light saber.  I went with a Purple one but also can switch it to Red or Blue (Is now blue but since I could buy the blue and red crystal separately I went with one of the two colors I couldn't get on their own).

From there I left with my cousin, traveling across the way to California Adventure and went on Guardians of the Galaxy and Radiator Springs racers with the rest of our family.  We then headed back into to Disneyland for a reservation at Oga's Cantina (See My Post in Culinary Travels thread).  After that we went on Pirates of the Carribean, my favorite ride in the park, and then the Matterhorn Bobsleds.  After that we decided to go on the new Millennium Falcon ride.  My cousin and I ended up as Pilots while his mother got to work the weapons systems.  All in all it was pretty fun but the non-pilot ride spots would be rather boring as you're just pushing one or two buttons the whole time as opposed to pilots who steer the ship right/left or up/down and fire off light speed.

We ended the night with dinner at one of the restaurants on main street and then called it a night since I had a long, four plus hour, drive back home.  It was really nice seeing my cousin and his new home and also great to visit a place I really enjoy going to and seeing something new while I was there.  I really hope to visit the droid building shop the next time I go!
